Exclamation Misfiring and "shiver" on 2008 RX-8

Hi guys

Recently it sounded like the car misfires every 4~7 seconds and momentarily "shivers" when it does, and you can hear an Audible "pop" from the exhuast as well. But neither CEL nor any error codes came up in a diagnostics test. I have no hot or cold start problems so I eliminated compression issues. So I had the Plugs replaced, 2 of the plugs were completely fouled. Even with the new plugs it has apparantly started misfiring again, I suspect it might be failing coils as they have never been replaced in the cars' 42500km history. Any thoughts?

Thanks in Advance.

You should always replace coils, wires and plugs together. At 45,000 km it's about time to replace the coils.

And if you do decide that it's in fact one of those components that needs to be replace, make sure you do all 4.

If the coils are bad then you will not have a complete healthy if ignition system. Best to replace plugs wires and coils at the same time and search how to retrain the ecu to adjust the air/fuel ratio to compensate for decreased ignition lag.

but I'm still new and having my own problems... lol
