Best Turbo for Rx8

Hi guys im looking for the best package possible for the rx8.

I want it relatively smooth. Power right to the limit. Reliability.

I see that your turbo kit runs at 13psi where as the MazdaManiac upgrade for the greddy is running at 9psi. Is 13 not quite high?

Im also looking an oversized intercooler to fill the MS bumper.

Guage Pod for where the sat nav would go and the A pillar. With dials for Water Temp, Oil Temp, Voltage, Boost, etc the usual. Is there a point in fitting one for oil pressure if the car already comes with one?

Also would you sell the HKS piggy back system instead of the interceptor as my tuner/installer recommends that though hasnt used the interceptor

They are kinda 2 different systems. I believe the mazsport kit will provide more of the upgrades (dont quote me for sure on that though, I might be wrong and dont want to say anything bad about the MM upgrade). The distribution and peak power a bit different between the 2, just depends on what you're looking for. https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=132628 : dyno to compare most, if not all, FI options you might consider.

As for the intercooler, there are a few options, but I'm guessing the one with the mazsport kit will more than suffice.

For the oil gauge: the one in the 8 is "functional"... kinda... It basically tells you if there is pressure or not.... if you notice, it doesnt really ever move aside from when you turn the car on...

I believe most people will use emanage ultimate or the interceptor. I cant quite rate the HKS system, but that's because I havnt heard anyone use it. If you can, it might be better/easier to just use the interceptor.

Alot of members have used so many different turbos. Ive looked at the kits

The esmiral, mazsport, greddy, greddy upgrade from mazsport, greddy upgrade from mazdamaniac, tdiddys kit, etc just want to commit myself to one and work from there. I want the most bang from buck but i dont want my engine to blow up a year from now either! The mazsport kit can produce the most power in the dyno sheet but its running at 13psi so its not exactly a fair compairson at the MM greddy upgrade.

Im looking to brek 300hp at the wheels initally. With ambitions to eventually go up to 350-400.

At the minute the car is completely stock except for a Racing Beat cat back and an agency power mid pipe.

I need to upgrade alot of things. What im really looking is a realistic invoice for all materials needed to make my car go safely past 300hp. Including guages, intercoolers turbos, wastegates, clutches, flywheels, pulley kits, whatever is needed.

Im from UK so will cost a small fortune to make phone calls so try to keep it to forum if you can please

You've stopped at the right place for a great turbo kit IMO but there is really a ton of good information on the different kits in the "Major Horsepower Upgrades" section of this forum. There is a sticky with comparative dyno plots, prices etc. I'd recommend you take a look at some of the threads in that section to educate yourself on what's out there.

for me i like the esmeril turbo, they say with proper tuning u can hit 13 psi, and right out of the box you will have 300whp, and if you want they say you can install it in a weekend, but im not sure if that this is true or not. Also its not as expensive as most of the kits out on the market for the rx8

Have you got a link? The only thing i heard about it is its cheap parts.

The amount of money ill be putting in to rex will be great.

By the time i get a kit, dials, flywheel, clutch, kit etc ill have spent a small fortune so whats an extra 2k doing all that right.

This is in the mazsport vendor forum. You should be asking questions about Mazsport products here, not random "what should I buy" questions.

PSI is meaningless. Flow is all that matters.
There are turbos making more power at 9 PSI than others are at 13.

Which kit to get depends on your goals and your budget.
Go for the Type III.

Best bet is to contact Scott directly.
He will know where the piping goes as to not interfere with the steering equipment.

Yes they will fit RHD cars and usually make 300rwhp at ~6psi of boost. pm sent
