You laugh and think it's funny, try driving in stop and go traffic when it's 110 with 6% humidity - ain't no fun watching the water temp rise past 210 and not wanting to go down. When were not driving we laugh at you in Georgia with your 80% humidity. Not yet sure who will get the last laugh.

Interesting thing i posted on another thread
coolant and oil temps are almost if not totally synchronized during mid length town/ suburbia driving. that is a real good thing. Used to be about 10-15 degrees difference with oil being a little higher.
Still some normal temp fluctuation but now the oil temps come down when the coolant temps do--didnt used to do that this markedly.
also the car warms up faster---better scrubbing!
Very pleased with this unit. Mazmart did good.
Ok Paul now you will have to buy a bigger hat?! JK dude.

When its 107°F in the desert (like today), I can see 211°F in the coolant at idle after a few minutes.
I've seen 212F on some hot days here after some average driving - that's the hottest I've seen. We can get some really hot days here. Nothing compared to your hot days, but our humidity can get pretty oppressive.

That said, you don't have to deal with our winters Those I would give up in a heartbeat.

winters are fun you baby. get a hoodie and learn to make good snowballs.

And as par par for the course MM is right, our humidity here - while brutal to mow the lawn in - makes the car way less suceptible to the heat.

Phoenix got snow for the first time in 20 years last year as well.
Of course, I was visiting DC on that day - getting a 1/2 foot of snow dumped on me.

I know snow in northern AZ in the mountains is not uncommon but I don't think I've ever even heard of snow in Phoenix.

Didn't I see you say a couple weeks ago that this is the hottest summer in a long while for you guys as well?

It was an anomaly.

34 days in a row of 110°F or more. That broke the 1973 record by more than a week.

Yes, I am a big baby. Especially when it comes to the cold. You may be too when you get a bit older, you young whipersnaper...

1/2 a foot of snow? That's what we call a light dusting around here It is amazing though how many people forget every year how to drive in the snow (knocking on wood that I'm not one of them this year...). And it is amazing how the news media makes a big deal out of it when we get more than a couple inches, like it almost never happens around here.

Anyway, I'm going to say something on topic so Paul doesn't get mad. Getting the water pump installed tomorrow...

I'm curious to see the two in person and compare them side by side when I see them tomorrow.

It was the same there. That is why I moved.
Now I live in a place where you can play golf comfortably in shorts in February.
Of course, in July you don't need to roll your windows down because they've melted...

of all the people here installing this pump, do you have a scan tool to make coolant temp comparisons?

If not, gimme a couple weeks and I'll see what readings I come up with. (assuming Hymee remembers to bring my Scanalyzer to SSX)

I've got the ScanGauge. From what someone said earlier though, they aren't seeing coolant temps change, but they have an oil temp gauge and are seeing oil temps drop.

After seeing this in person I must say, it's a very nice piece. I hadn't planned on adding this for a while but I'm really heavily considering putting off a couple of other things to do this.

I went to school in Ithaca, New York. My freshmen year there, there was a period of two weeks where the temperature never broke 0 (Fahrenheit). Being raised in LA most of my life, I was quite excited about going off to school so that I could finally see snow, but I quickly learned to hate the snow except when I was driving in it.

Of course, now that I'm back in LA, I'm always thankful for the weather we get here. It's never as hot as places like Arizona, and yet never cold enough to require anti-freeze.
