I just cant wait ......... after I saw all the pictures about the pump, and people already have it installed .....

 

Well, don't feel like the lone ranger my friend. I could have had #1 and I gave it up because I wanted more inormation. Now I'm in a holding pattern.

 

The installation for it is dirt simple, also. It can be done in less than two hours.

 

Less than 1 if you wanted to really hustle.

Wanted to say thanks again to mac11 and Red Devil for the water pump install!!!

Even though I'm no engineer, looking at them side by side it is pretty easy to see why the Mazmart pump would flow better than the Mazda one.

So no comparision yet? Some one said oil temp is down? Thats great. Looks like my future mods are scan and pump lol

 

I hope to see my pump before Friday, I have a whole day off so I can install it and post numbers up.

For my car.

I've seen Temp as low as 75 Celsius and went as high as 108, but thats after I did like 10 minutes of 9K rpm run and never let go. once I let my throttle go the temp dropped back down to about 85 in maybe 20 or 30 seconds. Under normal condition the oil temp sits between 85-93.

Outside temp between 75 Fahrenheit to 98 Fahrenheit.

If I can get my pump before Friday, I can install it. and start monitoring temp. (or else gotta wait till maybe next month)

 

you should not see 75 after you have warmed up ? 108 is pretty damnet hot all right - if you can repeat the same conditions that gave that reading you will get a good comparison .

I wired the Water temp sensor already, Im just waiting for Paul's *PUMP* to come, then Im going to connect the sensor to the coolant hose.

Defi Control Unit II has the recording function, I have yet to use it, but when I get the pump, I will turn the function on and start recording

weather is pretty stable in NYC, I think I can get a good comparison.

 

So is this out in volume so we can order it?

well --the temps in georgia have dropped--in the 60's on the way to work today. Noticed something. I have about a 12 mile drive to work --surburb, interstate city combo. You know---what a life> type thing.
Watch your oil temps in the cool weather. I actually had to drive my car a little harder in order to get the oil temp up to 180. Any lower than that over time you can get a sludge issue. Water pump is that good.

Sludge? with 5-20 and the new ingredients?

 

All oil has an operating range. Run it outside of that operating range for extended periods of time - either high or low - and you won't like the results.

 

Well, it is hard to know how good the comparison is, as in addition to the new water pump, I have new coolant, and our temps have been a bit inconsistent lately. But one thing I've been noticing the last couple days is that the water temps seem to rise and fall more quickly. For example, I saw the water temps drop from 207 to 198 in about 2/3rds of a mile. My thinking is that the new water pump is allowing the coolant to absorb heat from the engine more quickly and dissipate it more quickly. But that's just a guess on my part.

 

I know that. Thats one reason why I change my oil ahead of its due time.

We've begun shipping pumps again and I intend to bring some to Sevenstock. I'll be the guy with the Mazmart shirt on. Actually, I should clarify: I'll be the black dude with the Mazmart shirt on. That clarification was due to the fact that we'll be selling some of our T-shirts also.

That may not be the greatest idea. There was a thread walking around these boards somewhere where a guy did an oil analysis every 1000 miles on his oil. Long story short determined the most wear happens in the first 3000 miles after an oil change and it really levels off after that.

 

Paul save me a pump and an FD one too, but dont bring mine to SSX I dont think I will have room to bring them with me, Oh and save me a couple of shirts
