I know your making a new system to send out maps. But what if you had everyone sign up or open a new account to a specific Email address. (meaning we all use ex. AOL)

This could stop confusion knowing that emails will not be getting blocked. It will either be we received it or you didnt.

I see there are several different accounts now, and im sure there are MANY MANY out there.

How long do you think it will take you for the link based setup to come into affect?

I think Jeff's idea of the web-link is the best.
That way the only time the map is sent anywhere is when he uploads it to his own server.
He has control of it every step of the way except directly onto your own computer.
Pretty fail-safe method as long as you can log into the server and see/download your map.
Though I'm sure new issues will arise with that method too

I am curious how Jeff plans on handling the log-in process with this web download idea.
Maybe each person's email address is their username and a generic password is given that we change once we log in?

 

No log-in needed. It'll just be a folder tree like the base calibrations.
Everyone's calibration is already locked to their particular AccessPORT through its serial number, so there is no real problem with seeing all the other calibrations out there.
The folders will be under the user's screen name, so no e-mail address will be exposed or real names.

like engine health?
or some kind of failure the pcm does not monitor?

 

datalogs can only log what the PCM knows. soooo... no

We need to sink MM into a cloning vat and make 50 more of him. Yes the world would be a far worse place due to the increase of caustic sarcasm and lack of tolerance for stupidity.... or would that be good?? Anyway, he's to valuable and knows way to damn much for just one man to posses in one human head and then try to help us poor saps.

I think the disparity between our knowledge and skill level vs his causes the finger pointing...
