btw: while I'm waiting for Mr. MM to render my tune, I was thinking of going with the Cobb "stock" Stage1_MTv100 map. Any issues foreseen (wouldn't expect so)? Any advantages over the MM baseline?

Of course when I get the MM custom I'll be going with that map.

stick with the MM base tune, it's very similiar to the OEM Mazda map.
I think some people had idling issues with the Cobb map.

You can try the Cobb calibration.
As a matter of fact, I suggest it on a stock car.
Then, you get through comparison a better idea of just what a value the MazdaManiac Custom Calibration really is.

please don't take this the wrong way but if he's answerign questions like this...he's not working on maps.
hang in there, I know it's not fun to wait but he'll get to you. (and YES, I too have to wait for these when I need them. Jeff is an equal opportunity hater. )

Well he answered a question 2 above me so if hes online, obviously hes not working on the tunes that very second. It takes 5 seconds to put a date on the blank page. Its been 22 days. Just wondering if its almost on its way. Chill out. Its not nagging, just want an update.

Apparently, asking people to read the instructions is just asking too much.

I will reiterate these points here, but those of you that are wondering "where are my calibrations?", it may serve you well to re-read the entire instruction set.
1) DO NOT RESEND YOUR SUBMISSIONS - Resending puts you at the BACK OF THE LINE!
2) INCLUDE ACCURATE ANSWERS TO ALL 11 QUESTIONS, EVERY TIME
3) DOWNLOAD THE NEWEST SOFTWARE FROM THE LINKS IN THE INSTRUCTIONS - using other versions or software from the Cobb-provided CD wont work and might brick your AP.
4) ONLY SUBMIT THE LOGS REQUESTED FOR YOUR CALIBRATION LEVEL - That means NO WOT LOGS ON v4.0.0
Additionally, if you are going to include vague requests like "my idle is strange, FIX IT" or "can you increase my gas mileage", your concerns will not be addressed.

"my idle is strange, FIX IT"

"can you increase my gas mileage",
you should respond: error lies between seat and steering wheel.

There seem to be a LOT of people who are having hunting idle issues and I get PM'd about it almost every day. However, a new flash isn't likely to help anyway.

My error comment was aimed at the people wanting better mpg, not the idling question.

My bad, Bro. I wanted to address the hunting idle and erroneously quoted you. From now on I shall place you on my ignore list.

The idle will hunt on a completely STOCK PCM after a reset on some cars, especially cars that have a lot of trim needed or a leak somewhere.

I am continually surprised by the sheer number of cars that have mechanical issues (some quite simple) that are tied to owners that expect some of that "magic" I've spoken about.

If you install an intake, make sure every hose that was there before is still going somewhere.
Also, if you have take apart the entire upper IM just 'cuz you can, expect that you have created a leak somewhere.

Many whom have also swapped in the BHR Ignition System (as well as the aformentioned intakes and such) have had immediate hunting idles for two main reasons; 1) Forgetting to properly reinstall the induction system, including vacuum hoses. 2) Needlessly disconnecting the battery and, thus, resetting the trims.

Many also need to clean their throttle bodies, air filters, MAF sensors, E-shaft sensors, etc.

You're right Jeff; I'm not at all impressed with the Cobb stage 1 on my stock n/a. It has a more pronounced lag around 5k rpm until the secondary injectors cut it. It also reset my trims so I'm back in ECU 'learning mode.'
I think I'll go back to the base MM until my custom tune arrives.

170 Calibration e-mails went out today. Another 130 or so will go out within the hour.

Remember to RIGHT-CLICK on the calibration after you navigate to your personal page.
All of your calibrations to date will be listed. You just need the newest.

Hey jeff,

I just tried to add my map, and I get a lovely message:

Name: tLYyL.jpg
Views: 18
Size: 503 Bytes

I had 1.2.0.5, I just updated to the latest version 1.2.2.1. I can't import the maps under either version.

Hmm. I just tried using both versions on your calibration and it worked.
Do any of your three calibrations work?

Completely uninstall your updater and AP Manager (blow all instances and folders away - you might even want to look in the registry for traces of Cobb Tuning stuff and erase it) and then reinstall the newest versions.
Put them in new folders with slightly different names than the old ones just to be sure.
