New MazdaManiac BASE Calibrations
#1753
Saturdays are NOT business days. If you submit on a Saturday, you will receive a confirmation on or before Tuesday, typically.
I have a bunch of calibrations going out tonight.
If your submission date is before 8/6, you will receive something by tomorrow morning.

I submitted mine on the 3rd got my received on the 6th. I'm crossing my fingers but technically the 6th is the day my email was acknowledged so i don't know if ill be receiving a map. We will see!!
I have a question since most of the time people submit maps and ask "where is my map i haven't gotten my map yet blah blah" and the response is usually no response because they failed to follow instructions or its a free service be patient. If you were to pay for the service would you take precedence over those who purchased the AP and get free tuning? I think some of us (me at least) would pay for some sort of expedited or jump to the front of the line pass. I know its more of a time thing Jeff you have your own life and things you want to do with your time as well so i know expedited service or anything like that is not necessarily the answer I was just curious about how things worked.

Ok, been searching this forum and this thread for over an hour. I can't find any info about saving the map currently loaded in the ecu. This map was hand tuned by MM on a dyno and I don't want to lose it. I havent updated my AP because I've never had the need to do anything to it so using the AP manager software is out of the question for me now, especially since I can't locate the original CD that came in the box. I need to revert back to the stock map and save the custom tune because the car goes in for warranty work tomorrow morning and they will be checking the ecu and obdII codes.
The question is this. Will using the uninstall option save the custom tune and revert back to stock map? Or can I just load the stock map and the AP will save the currently loaded one? What is the stock map called on the AP?

Using the AP Manager, save that file from the AP to the desktop of your PC.
Now, you have a back-up of the current calibration.
That said, un-installing the AP will save that calibration on the AP, so you can re-install it later without an troubles.
All of the software (the Updater and AP Manager) can be downloaded from the links in the first post of this thread.
Then again, the instructions to, essentially, do what I just described was there in the first post as well, so your search of the thread was kinda fail! lol

Unless I fail at reading, the first post never mentioned that uninstalling the AP would save the currently loaded map. Also I remember you saying that using the new AP software would update the AP and then I'd need to have the map rebuilt. So I was worried that trying to use the new AP software wouldn't work with the old map. My AP hasn't been updated, ever.
I didn't know if the map was on the AP because it wasn't showing in the list of maps available to flash to the car. So I didn't know if it wasn't stored, or if the AP just wasn't showing it because it was already loaded in the car.
Thanks for having patience with me.

The first post also has instructions about saving the calibrations and the effect of uninstalling.

So I am wrong about having to have the custom tune you created back in april last year rebuilt for the new firmware for the AP?
I am pretty sure you told me that the old map would need something done to it to work with the latest versions of firmware.

he's saying you can be doubly covered. if you uninstall the ap, this procedure will store your current map on your ap. this will not require a firmware update.
you can also back up your map with ap manager. just save the .ptm. you shouldn't have to update the firmware for this either.
whether or not updating the firmware would have an effect on the map you have is another matter though. not sure about that one.

Installed the AP manager and updater. Hooked the AP up to the computer and the AP Manager doesn't show the map that's currently loaded on my car, in the AP.
I don't know how you did it or what you used to build the map for my car, but its not on the AP. Hope you're right that uninstalling it will save that custom tune back to the AP.

On the AP, look at the "Tune" section and read the name of the "Current Tune".
Using the AP Manager, save that file from the AP to the desktop of your PC.

MM, do you have that map?
[edit]Plugging it back in and installing it back on the car. The calibration doesn't show up in the list.

He tuned it directly on a dyno. He was physically sitting inside my car. I don't know what he did or how he did it. Mostly likely the reason it wasn't on the AP.

I don't know what he did or how he did it. But the calibration wasn't on the AP nor did uninstalling the AP save the custom calibration back to the AP, as MM said it would.
So I hope like I haven't before that he has it saved somewhere.

So where did I go wrong?
[edit] I sent you an email last night, I resent it now with the new information you requested.
