Plug it into your car and see if it immediately comes up with the "install" screen.
If not, it isn't.

Jeff, can you please pm or send me an email? The tune you sent to me on the 19th for my base map will not allow the vehicle to run. I swapped the 1k injectors to the right spot and then installed the tune.

I need you to follow the instructions, please. (Especially with regard to communication - I can't effectively respond to questions on the forum like this.)

ATTENTION -

If you are currently running a MazdaManiac base calibration, you will need to contact me as soon as possible for an updated version.
There is a bug in the calibrations that is tied to the newest firmware that may cause the AccessPORT to become unstable, lock up in the monitor mode and/or cause the calibration to be incorrectly loaded into the PCM.
This seems to only affect the North American and European calibration, but please feel free to contact me for an update no matter what your location is if you are still on a "v4.0.0" calibration.
Those with "v4.0.1" and higher needn't worry as your calibration should already be updated, especially if you received your most recent file within the last 3 months.

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.

Jeff,

what model/year does a N3M1 18 881D correspond to? Have picked it up to hopefully tune with Cobb and racetuner and use your calibration service.

I haven't come across that one before. Maybe Ash can answer that question.
What model did it come from?

ill PM ash now.

From my research it seems to be a 2006 California MT. I also have found that Californian rx8's have different emissions, will this determent the tune in any way?

Does anything have to be done to run a LHD ecu in a RHD car?

Had a look MM...

From my side that Part Number does not exist in any # configuration with N3M1, A, B, C, D ,E, F.
As a new replacement ECU.

Giustino..
Can you get hold of the complete VIN the ECU came out of??..or did you buy it off eBay?

As we know prior to 2008 most of the numbers on the OEM part (ECU) itself does not correspond to the actual OE replacement Part Number for cross referencing....it is a PITA.

No problem, I can now reference all USA and Canada Mazda VINS, and all Aussie, UK and Europe.

The trouble can be that Mazda Japan have changed most replacement Part Numbers for OE ECU's, or superseded them with no reference to the old or original part numbers in their EPC's, so unless one has an old EPC.?..

Anyone else notice the sampling rate differences while logging between Accessport 2A and 2B?

Recently helped a friend log who has a version 2B Accessport. I found the sampling rate (upwards of 30 Hz) and quickness (runs through numbers instead of skipping) of the AccessPort 2B much better than my AccessPort 2A.

My AccessPort 2A samples at 3-4 Hz when logging 7-8 items and I normally resort to using the Racetuner software to obtain 10 Hz sampling for my logs.

I assume this is all based on internal electronics since I believe the firmware is the same. It makes me tempted to switch over to the newer AccessPort, but my AP won't unmarry from my car...

The 2b does log faster - about as fast as logging straight to RACETuner/PROTuner.

Why won't it unmarry? What error are you getting?

No error. I have a feeling something still isn't right from when I had it sent back to cobb a few years ago (when I had that 'knocked out face' on the screen).

When I click to unmarry the screen goes blank and after a few seconds reverts back to the main screen with 'Monitor.'

Hmm. Yeah - I'd see about getting that fixed.
Shoot me an e-mail on Monday and I'll call Chris over at Cobb and see what we can do.

for the RX8 there is either Version 2 or 2b

not 1, not 2a

and you could have just called them yourself, they are always very helpful

I realized the issue months ago. Yet I did not look into it, because I never actually had plans to unmarry the AP from my car. Every other function works fine. But messing with a 2b yesterday has me tempted.

Indeed.
But getting a 3 year old AccessPORT fixed for free might be tricky if you aren't a dealer.

Just installed my greddy kit over the weekend! I'll be doing the logs this week. The base map is running pretty good.

My access port won't come on! Tried wiggling both connections. I'm gonna go to oreilys tommorrow to see if they can still read codes. Who do I call for warranty work? MM or Cobb? Bought from MM about 2 months ago.
