Cobb AccessPORT Discussion
Cool, got my AP a couple days earlier than delivery estimate. Win.
Also got an automated email from MM with idiot proof step by step instructions. The man knows how to be efficient. We shall see how my Int-X / AccessPort combo works out soon.

when you flash the car, it resets the fuel trims so that might be what's causing you to 'feel' a difference.
Butt dyno FTW. Just wait till you get your updated maps, mine's a whole new car after Jeff's tuning

I do not know right at the moment. Until Jeff gets back at the end of the week I will not have any info. Sorry, I am just coming on board and I don't yet have all of the info. I hope to get everything straight by next week. I will say that normal ship time is about 2 weeks as Jeff has to order the AP from Cobb and then ship it to you once he gets it.

Just as a curiosity: If a new AP firmware comes out and I am partway in the tuning process. Is it OK to upgrade to latest AP firmware or should you use the firmware you started the process with?
Is there any way to detect if a map from Jeff is made for another firmware than the one I'm using?
Is there a version dependency between the maps and the AP firmware?
This is all hypothetical, I would just like to know in case the scenario comes up.

The firmware versions are different than the versions of the pro-tuner. Even if you knew the version it wouldn't be any useful information.
My understanding is they are for various gears or operating conditions. I've normally just set my idle value the same for all the tables.
I am trying to decide if I should get an accessport. My main issue is that I have the Mazdaspeed Dual Muffler exhaust and it pops a lot. I was wondering if with the accessport tuning, it will maybe do less popping? I understand the car runs rich (maybe even more here in california).. so the accessport would lean it a bit and there should be less unburnt fuel going in the exhaust? So this should fix a lot of the popping?

In theory, yes, a little. Just to check- it's only popping at high RPM's once the engine/exhaust is really hot, correct? It shouldn't really be "popping" under other circumstances...
I understand the car was designed for it, so I know it will continue doing so. I just feel it interrupts such a nice sound

Thanks for the response.
Anyways, don't want to derail the thread so much. I guess it won't help much... think I'll get it in june or july.
