More than likely, I'll be solo.... my best friend can't make it because she'll be staying with my dogs for me.

Can't you ask your sister or someone else to tend to the dogs for the weekend? I just think that it would be safer to have another driver with you so you could alternate driving. We definitely do not want anything bad to happen to anyone because of this trip.

If my mom will keep my sister's kids that weekend then I may ask her to come with me, but I won't count on her being able to go until closer to time. My best friend, Angie, isn't keen on staying with people she doesn't know so I'm not sure she would even consider going.

I'll be okay if I have to drive by myself.... won't be the first time I've made a really long drive alone.

They have the best location as far as meeting up goes. They have really good steaks but I have had better. I *think* I am a very good judge of food. But of course that is subjective. Dazy and EG had lunch with me yesterday at a place I think has excellent food. They can chime in on their thoughts on that place.
As far as going out to the best place for steaks it would be Ruth's Chris Steak House but that place can sure cut into the wallet

If we wanted to go further south on I-35 just past Burleson there is a 5 star seafood restraunt. I can't remember the name but it is on the east side and there is only one good seafood restraunt in that area so it narrows it down a bit
But I think you guys will like the Rig. Some of their higher priced steaks are really really good so it just depends on how much lighter you mind your wallet being when you leave
So if you make it out Shari and since Brian is buying you can eat DAMN GOOD

Well, you know that it's like 5 hours from Monroe to Fort Worth? I'm not trying to talk you out of meeting up with us, I just want you to be careful. If your bestfriend is that uncomfortable about staying with others, you two could always get a room together. She might change her mind if we all meet up for dinner and she gets to meet a few of the other girls that will be going. you'll be better able to tell her about Dazy after Tuesday.

Well it looks like we added some more people from the BJ's meet, it looks like half of us are meeting at the rig and the other in Hillsboro. So Shari it might be better to meet us in Hills boro for you but if you don't mind the drive your welcome to meet at the rig. I think we will just keep the meet at the rig since it's already reserved.

I'll take care of it this weekend. Going to check to see if they have group rates if we book a certain number of rooms. I'll book a block and modify as we need and grow.

I have more info. The more people sign up for the Omni Select Guest Program, the more 50% certificates for a weekend stay we can receive. I just signed up! If you are planning to attend, I would suggest signing up as well to keep our room costs down. We may not have to crowd as many of us in a room.

Select Guest Creation Successful
Thank you for joining Omni Hotel's Select Guest program. You will receive a welcome packet in the mail in about three weeks which includes your membership card, a certificate for 50% off a weekend stay and a certificate for a complimentary room upgrade. Meanwhile, you may begin enjoying the extra privileges of membership immediately by simply informing us that you are a Select Guest member at the time you make your reservations.

https://ssl.omnihotels.com/sg/signup.pl

Sign up through the link and let us know when you do so we can keep a tally of the certificates we can potentially use.

New info:

The Rig Address:
6308 South Fwy
Fort Worth, TX.
(Photo Attached)

It looks like, from Mapquest that it will take 54 mins from The Rig to Hillsboro, so it will be around 8:30 when we meet in Hillsboro.
(Photo Attached)

So we should arrive in Austin around 10:30 - 11:00

Calling all Dallas people meeting in Hillsboro!!!

Do you want to do dinner somewhere on our side of I35? Anyone know of a place?

I would think we'd want to do it locally to wait for all the traffic to die down so we can leave in time to get to Hillsboro to make the meeting time.
