Got down to the hospital in Temple. Nick died before we got there. We came to Round Rock to be with my girlfriend and her family. I made a bunch of phone calls and finally found the truck's location. They almost made it. After 20 hours of driving, they got within 20 miles of their destination. The truck was a full sized GMC extended cab. Me and brillo went and got the personal effects out of it. The right front tire penetrated the passenger compartment. The passenger door had to be torn open with the jaws of life. Meredith was not wearing her seatbelt and died on impact. Had she have been wearing it, there was a very good chance of survival. Nick was supposedly lying down asleep in the backseat. They found him under the dash. It was a head on collision with an 18 wheeler. Meredith fell asleep at the wheel and veered into oncoming traffic. This isn't how the weekend was supposed to go. We are supposed to be in Dallas right now hanging out. Oh well. There's Sevenstock in 3 weeks. I'd better make it there.

That is a terrible tragedy Fred. My heart goes out to you and your girlfriend and her family. I know it's really hard for you seeing your girlfriend go through this and makes it almost as hard on you. It's a pretty helpless feeling but your shoulder can make a lot of difference. I will keep you guys in my prayers.

If anyone is in Austin and wants to meet up for a bit, I'll probably go over to North by Northwest off of Capital of Texas Hwy tonight to get out a little.

Fred, I'm sorry to hear about what happenned. My condolences to you and your family.

I just got home from the BBQ and I have some 400+ pictures to go through.
I hope to have them up on one of my sites and here sometime today but we'll see. I'm being pushed to go out and party :b

I'd like to say thanks to everyone who came out, everyone who helped and all of the sponsors. We couldn't have done this without you guys!

I'd also like to say thanks to Tiffany (Dazy) for having so much energy, so much drive and so much motivation to get this thing going and running smoothly! You did a great job and I know everyone there agrees with me on that one!

Thanks everyone! Even in the wake of a hurricane you came out and showed your support for Mazda rotary power! It was a pleasure to be there with all of yoU.

Jon / Ajax / The Camera Guy / Mr. No Clear Corners EVER!

It was a blast Tiffany you did an excellent job. A total of 62 Rx-8, 1st, 2nd and 3rd gens. 9 awards given out, and a whole mess of people. There were 5 raffles with 5 or 6 items per raffle it was amazing.

We should do it again next year.

Thank you to all the sponsors, and everyone who made it possible.

It was a blast, and to see all of the amazing vehicles! Hats off Tiffany. Very well put together. Can't wait until next year. Hopefully we will have better weather circumstances. Oh, and Ajax I stopped at Walmart and grabbed some epoxy :D For your clear corner install. We don't want them to fall out.

HEHE
In other news, i had a really great time. Tiff... you did an amazing job putting this all together. A very big thanks to you for all your hard work. Big thanks to all the sponsers who helped to make this happen.

It was great to see alot of the SA, FB, FC, and FDs... its inspiring to see how much work they've put into their cars. We're still pretty young, but im excited to see where we all end up with our 8s.
I am glad i got to finally meet all the people we see on the board. Oh, and sorry i had to run off in such a hurry, but i was running late and had to zoom zoom.

See you all in ft. worth soon. Time to dust off the old pool cue, and get ready for the showdown.

-HS

It was a swell day to say the least. Truly a Rotary rally with lots of 1st 2nd and 3rd gen rx7's also. Hope my Engine bay looks like some of those rx7's as the technology expands. A big thanks for the sponsors and Dazy for running a good BBQ!
