I tried going ot College Station because I didnt know the back roads. But I turned around 7 hours and 2.6 odd miles later.

We thought you were going to call us if you were going.

We got to Waco after 1 am. I took tons of backroads. Got from Spring to College Station in just over 2 hours. Hwy 6 through there was a parking lot. Took 3 hours to go the next 50 miles. Then we got off the beaten path again about 15 miles north of Brian and got to Waco in a little over an hour from there. 6 1/2 total hours to get here. We are staying the night with some of my friends and will head to Dallas tomorrow mid day. Our plan is to leave Dallas saturday evening and are heading down to Austin to stay with family until we can get all the way home. We are actually lucky we got here as fast as we did. It's only about another hour and a half to DFW. That would be an 8 hour trip there. Since the rest of Houston can't seem to get there in less than 24 hours, it's nearly a record.

Don't give me **** about not making it now. I'm on stand-by to be deployed for a week or so. My leave was canceled at the very last second yesterday and now I have to work through the weekend and beyond.

Eat some BBQ for me!

ZOOM ZOOM SUCKAS!!!
Good to hear your making it in RG. Let us know when you get into the D/FW area.

Woz, Sorry to hear your not going to make it.

I have a question. Why is everyone (non-BBQ related) coming to dallas? Wouldnt it be alot easier to go south or south west?

I am unsure as to what is going to happen right now. I just woke up to a phone call from my girlfriend who's family from Clear Lake has evacuated to Round Rock north of Austin. Her sister and 10 year old nephew last I knew were still trying to get out of Houston last night when I went to bed. All I know is that sometime in the night between Houston and Austin, they were in a car accident with an 18 wheeler. My girlfriend's sister was killed. I do know that her nephew is alive and talking but beyond that I have no more information. My girlfriend and her family are hysterical right now and don't know what to do. It's hard to go back to Houston with the traffic and impending weather yet I'm not sure if we should continue to Dallas. We may head down to Round Rock to be with them. Plans are very sketchy right now. I didn't intend to wake up to a phone call like this.

Slight update: Nick (girlfriend's nephew) is at White hospital in Temple, TX. First I heard he was talking, now I'm hearing that they are trying to get his heart started. Very inconsistent info. I'm in Waco so I'm heading down there soon. Probably won't make Dallas.

We talked about it when I was in Tulsa last month and he said he was bringing his camera then. Do you want him to come to the pow-wow tonight if he did bring the camera?

If he wants to, sure. I won't deny anyone the pleasure of hanging out with me. :D I kinda want him to video everyone arriving, like he did for OK.

I bought 2 18-packs. Will that be enough beer?

I would say probably because most of us will have to drive afterwards and Lord knows I sure don't wanna get lost in the big D just because I'm toasted!

LOL... I'll give him a holla before I get to the hotel to see what they're in to and if he wants to come to your place for the meeting. I'm sure he'd love the pleasure of hanging out with you! :D
