its funny how your car starts going south and you feel the urge to clean the **** out of it to make it feel better.

I just spent 1 1/2 in the back seat detailing 1 corner of the interior. Thank God for Shiner its gonna be a long night!!!

Don't forget the amount of time you spent upgrading/changing everything that might, in the long run, prolong the life of the engine.

I seldom clean my car I focus on the performance of it only, aesthetics were never my thing.

I know what you mean... I always wanted to properly detail my 8 and do some more exterior mods, but I never got around to it or spent the money/time on more performance oriented things. Of course, half the performance stuff mostly changed the sound of the car, but you get the point. I do like to keep the interior of my car clean... I hate people eating in my car and I would never let anyone smoke in my car (no one has tried, fortunately). I've slacked a bit since I bought my S4, but I still try to keep it generally clean.

That said, there are a few things I'd like to do for exterior appearances on my S4... mostly I'd like to replace my current spoiler with an M3 style lip spoiler, get some new wheels and take care of my bumper (cracked). I'll also work on lowering it a bit, but that's just a side effect of wanting/needing to replace the suspension set up and taking care of stuff like control arms at the same time.

I have most always just focused on maintenance and kept the car pretty clean, but not detailed. never really felt the need to "upgrade"...to many other hobbies (bench rest rifle, fish tank, wood shop. property in Louisiana that needs lots of maintenance..etc) and I have most always been satisfied with how it drove. needing a new engine has brought me to point out several other deficiencies like sluggish engine, body roll, clogged cat, rust brakes. I absolutely do not want another car payment and I still love my rx8 (and the rotary engine)...like I said in another post i just wants a tennis bracelet, some earrings and maybe some flowers.

with exhaust, downpipe, aem intake, slotted brakes, cobb ap and turbo on the way (researching suspension today) and a Thursday call with Rob at pineapple I look forward to discussing the oil, water/cooling system mods that will bring out the performance and reliability of my baby

time to goto work so I can take a free day off later when I have parts to install

Also if anyone is interested the guy I bought the turbo from has an authentic Mazda speed kit if anyone is interested (red). I offered him $350 (but he didn’t bite) because he is desperate and I really don’t want it but figured I would throw the option out there for anyone else. Let me know I will send you his contact info.

I've collected 5 dings since I moved to Texas (most likely becuase I still have Cali plates), my rear bumper was not fixed properly which makes it pop out. My front bumper sticks out on the sides slightly, I have scratches and chips all over my front bumper. My pass side rear tail light sticks out a little due to shotty work at the body shop I took my rear quarter panel to. The list goes on and on....

I've gotten to the point where I said "eff it" and gave up.

Funny, I have a major ding in the DS rear panel where my daughter opened the truck door trying to race me inside...ouch (needless to say the truck and the car park further away from eachother now)... the front bumper is littered with chips, scrapes and other general peppering but not too bad for a 7yr old car.

Well I did get insurance to do PDR on the whole car cause someone tried to break in through the sun roof when the car was covered in dew, they slipped and busted their ***...damn I should have taken pictures in the dew you could see the boot prints waking up the hood, finger marks in the sunroof seal and then a face print with hands grasping the side windows when he fell so he wouldn’t fall off. that would have made a great youtube vid...how not to steal a car

9k sorry to hear about your nos, I am not a personal fan but 25hp is hard to part with

No looks like I will be down in San An. The job at Hood went through some contractual changes and no longer had room for me.

Its crazy, If this new thing works out it will mean I will have been on the same contract for nearly five years... that is Super long in the contractor world.

Ill meet up with you one weekend up in Austin Shady. Any reason I get to go up there I take. I will for sure be up there in Oct for a concert if I am home by then.

You decided against keeping it? Are you selling it?

Same here... Though it's kind of sad that yesterday's 90 degrees with a breeze actually felt cool compared to the usual weather.

Yeah I sold it to another famous Texas member who wishes to remain nameless

It is too much of a temptation keeping it and I need the money to pay for a few odds and ends.

Not the prettiest kit but a damn good deal if you want to put your filter in a more accessible location. You could always change the color of the hose easily.

Funny, $25 (or hell even $56 at summit) or $200 for the one from race roots.

The raceroots one has longer hoses and looks prettier, also it is never in stock and will take 3 months to ship.

It's a little higher quality from RR but then you have other demons to worry about.
