If you think I like spending money on fixing stuff on my car you must be bent. I am going to fix what needs fixing when something comes up.

Yeah, so I'm not sure how this is possible, but when I got the new pads put on, it was communicated to me that the rotors "have one notch left".

How is it that the stock rotors could go in less than 25k miles when the ones on my last one were never changed (and I sold it at 66k)?

So if they do need replacing, which ones?

rotors dont have notches. they are trying to cheat you. someone who cant replace their own brake pads obviously knows nothing about cars, regardless of how untrue that might be. so they are going to try to get as much monies as possible

best way to test tho is to get a 0-1" micrometer and measure the thickness at several points.

Cheaper than buying em brand new *shrug*

I'm good with my S&D rotors that are actually a little too thick.

I had to do a double take at first since I was only looking at front rotors. The price seemed way off... I was like wait, he wants 900 for a set of used front rotors when I could get a brand new front rotor set for 720... And then I realized he was selling all 4 and then the price started to make a little more sense lol.

Seems like due to the design that would be the perfect balance between cooling and break pad wear tho.

Yeah, I had looked at buying those before I got my new ones. At 900, I probably would have bit. You get weight savings and better cooling. Granted, mainly useful for auto-x and aggressive driving.

Plus, if you wear through it, you can buy a new rotor and not a new hat.

Just did that. I remember Scott mentioning something about them. Finally decided to pull the trigger of some new rotors.
