Moving to Hammond next week will be working at SLU. Was suppose to have the recall done in BR but they called and said their mechanics were sick and rescheduled. Said i'll get a CX-7 for sure. Car seems to run fine. Keep you guys posted.

I don't care about weight.I go for looks. Nice choice of rims. There aren't too many 20's that look good and that dont look like they belong on an SUV.

Recall was done at Diamond. They also changed my differential fluid at my request. If you go there watch out. They charged me $340. I had to get 3 people to look at the invoice to get to the bottom of the charges. In the end, not sure what I paid for but I won't be going back. They cancelled 3 appointments I made, the second time no curtiousy call. The employees there look trashy too. The cashier could not speak English on an 8th grade level. Next time I'll download the service book off this site and do it myself. Lastly, when I checked my bank statement they charged my card twice and then refunded one of them the next day. WTF over.

Hey Ted, call me for the next meet, not just pm on here. I don't get on much anymore.
And lemme know about SS9, I'm goin'!

surfrgurl, just take your car in for the vac test & take it from there.
Take it to Ducote on the westbank, see Kieth.
My 8 passed!
What's up Monique? This is Dominic, black 8 we used to autocross together. How's that going? I'm sure you're kicking *** in BSL! That was a good run on I-10 a few weeks ago Looks like your racking up the mods. So far I have the Greddy exhaust, drop in filter and 245/40 KDW2's. I'm thinking about getting a midpipe & one of the superchargers. What are your mod plans? Oh, when is the next autocroos at Zephyr stadium? I've been so busy with work, trying to find a new house and driving back and forth b/w NO and BR that i haven't raced in a looong time. I miss it.

Me and my friend put the Racing Beat system on his WB 8, sounds great and looks great too. I'm thinking about getting the same system for mine over the Christmas holiday. Now if I can just get him to come up from Tulane to gimme a hand on the thing...

He's had it on for over a year now and no problems, except for one. It seems the bolts on the flange from the exhaust to the midpipe came loose, so the muffler was hanging down, luckily it wasn't touching the ground. Just made his drive from Baton Rouge to N.O. rather loud heh...

The Greddy exhaust sounds great and is one of the least expensive. The tips fill out the openings and are the complete opposite of the stock tips, it looks almost Porsche-like. However, they are hard to clean properly because there is not much space between the tips and the shroud. The only reason my bumper melted was because my cat basically blew up and was completely gutted. Fire shot out of my tips, heated them up and caused the bumper to melt. I may be the only person that this has happened to. The only reason I suggested against it is because if I had to do it over again I would go with Borla, Turbo XS or Racing Beat instead based upon my experience. Ultimately it is up to you. If you like the way the Greddy looks and sounds, then go for it! Power-wise, it won't make much of a difference.

I have Greddy and so far its been great. The only problem is that the tips turned a different color. The tips are rather big. I like it, but if you're gonna get a Mazdaspeed rear bumper it might not fit.

Hey y'all. Haven't checked in for a while. Car is at Diamond getting a new seat heater...
I passed a silver 8 in N.O. a couple of days ago. It had a performance exhaust and a AEM sticker on the right rear window. This is the first one 8 I've seen around with any mods!

I go to school at Loyola University, so you should see me putting around uptown if you're in the area.

I dropped my 8 off at Paretti Mazda today for the recall, to get a new driver's side tailing (which had a fair amount of water in it after the rains last week), and to have them check out the trunk (the interior was a little damp after the rains last week).

How is Paretti? Anyone have any experience? I just called and they told me they haven't had a chance to look at it yet today and probably will not get to it until tomorrow.

Also, spotted a red with OEM spoiler driving south on Causeway at the end of last week. I think whoever it was honked at me. I was in a black with an OEM spoiler and fairly dark tinted windows.

Paretti has been very good to me in my experience, i wasn't expecting great things after my first visit, but they are awesome.
They've been trying to help with a problem with my clutch being abnormally stiff, squeaking, and the throwout and or pilot bearing making a squeaking noise.
They bled the clutch slave line, and even got ATE Super Blue approved by MANO. Still hasn't fixed the problem, so they are going to be dropping the transmission tomorrow to replace the bearings and seals. The service dept. I normally deal with wouldn't go to this length.

Thanks. I was just a little disappointed that they haven't even looked at the car yet. As long as they do a good job, I'm happy. I need the car back by Friday at the latest, though, so they better start working on mine before they start working on your. :D

Ok, Luling native here visiting from NC for the holidays. Today I saw two black or dark green 8s on Hwy 90 in Luling and a blue one in Avondale. Now I got to do the 16 hour drive back to NC tomorrow, wish I was driving the 8!

Later,
HS
