Hello All,

I have been outof touch with this forum for several months. Unfortunately most of my time over the last few months has been spent in West Jefferson Hospital.

Is the 7 club still meeting? If so, when and where?

Casanova, where did you get your fenders rolled? I have a friend who needs to roll them on his Mazda 6.

Surfergirl, I think I have seen your car near Ehret High School?

I hope to meet some of you soon.

Thanks,
Astrox

CAM427R, I love my RB exhaust, I just can't seem to keep it clean!

PoLaK, Welcome to the N.O.! Look for my VR 8 sportin' your black brake caliper stencils on my side mirrors & red brake light decal! Hey- be sure you take CASANOVA's advice, our potholes have no mercy! Esp w/aftermarket 19's, yes, I speak from experience! And I had that same clutch problem, Ducote repositioned the bushing & lubricated things, now I'm good to go.

skwidd, I much prefer Ducote on the westbank than Peretti, by far! Could be the 3 x's I went to Paretti they were having a "bad day" ~shrug~ See / talk to Keith @ Ducote.
Astrox will prob agree.

Astrox, West Jeff huh? That sucks but apparently (hopefully) things are better!

Surfrgurl0301, It's so cool to see another chic who knows mods & has a cool 8. I've had mine for 3+ years now & have quite a few mods. I'm pretty excited about having my adjustable Koni's installed next Monday! Hey are you in Marrero off Patriot? I'm in Nottingham Estates. We def need a local meet soon, sorry I missed the one at The Fox & The Hound.

Hey I live between Ehret High School & West Jefferson Hospital!

Can't wait for the next meet. I'll email Ted.

Happy New Year everyone & GO SAINTS ALL THE WAY!!!

Monique,

Hi! I finally saw your car the other day on Barataria. Unfortunately I was some distance away and with all people-Don Ducote. Yes I survived WJ but I have a continued medical battle ahead. BTW, you must be close to me, I live on "E".

Yeah my buddy at Tulane says the same thing about his RB system, he can't keep the damned thing clean.

I'd also like to say gl with the potholes. Usually when I make the trip down I steal my mother's Tahoe Z71 which absorbs the potholes only slightly better than my 8. Drove the 8 down there for New Year's and it SUCKED. Haha. Bumpity Bump Bump all throughout uptown. Downtown isn't so bad though.

Hey Monique! It's awesome to have another girl on the **** with an 8. We should def have a meet cause I would really like to see everyone's 8. I live in algiers but I was by Ehret about 2 weeks ago picking up my mom's car from her friend's house. I'm in Baton Rouge though because I am going to college here, but I am always in the NO on the weekends. I just recently got my bumper fixed because someone had done a hit and run and left a huge scratch in the bumper. Champs wanted $1200 to fix it and a buddy of my boyfriend's fixed it for me for way cheaper and I even got my tail lights smoked the same color as the car! It's so awesome and I'm excited about it. Hopefully I will have pics posted soon. The SAINTS are going all the way baby!

Hi Sufrgirl!

As I pointed out in my previous post, I think I saw your car near Ehret a few weeks ago. The funny thing is I know of three more 8's in this area-must be a record.

Glad to hear you got your car fixed.

Thanks Astrox..I have been needing to get my car fixed for over a year now, I am just a horrible procrastinator and haven't had the time. What color is your 8? Because I saw a dark green 8 in Marrero on the expressway a while ago.

Hi Surfurgurl-(think I got it right this time0,

I have a yellow one. I have talked to an owner of a green one from Gretna. My car has a blue, enviromental LA Plate. If you see me-blow your horn!

I'm back in Dallas now and the car is going to a dealer here that everyone likes. I forgot to tell Paretti that the thermostat (the one used to control the temp of the A/C heat) is not working properly. It takes are few tries of turning the dial to hot to get heat in the car, and sometimes it will even start blasting cold depending on bumps in the road, etc. And it sucks because it's so freakin cold in Dallas!

I had also told Paretti the trunk was leaking, and they said they couldn't find the leak. The lower compartment of the trunk was pretty soaked, so I don't know how they missed that one. Hopefully the dealer here can get it resolved.

I'll be back in NOLA with the 8 for Mardi Gras week.

Casanova, Monique, and the rest of you Rx-8 lovers. I'd like to just let you all know that one of our dearest friends and longtime Rx-7 Club member passed away this past Sun.

He was one of the greatest guys you'd ever meet and was a passionate Rotorhead. I believe Roger aka Casanova was the only Rx-8 owner who had the opportunity to meet him during our last meet at Fox and Hound.

Anyway, I look fwd. to having the rest of LA's 8 owners meet up with us for future club events. I know Monique, Roger, and Astrox have contacted me and are game. Our club that was founded in 2000 consists of many great individuals including students, local business owners, professionals, etc... who ALL have one thing in common... an insane love for the Rotary Powered Vehicle

To all that didn't get a chance to meet Mark, please take a moment to learn more about our dear friend by following the link:

Thanks for the kind words Astrox !

BTW, I told our people about your idea of the Planetarium and everyone was very excited. I would def. like to set that up with you for one weekend after the Mardi Gras Holidays.

This would be a great opportunity for the local 8's to join us for a great event.

Thanks Ted for sharing, although it's unfortunate and sad news. I'm sorry I was not able to meet him at the Fox and The Hound meet, he seems like such a great guy. My condolences as well, to everyone effected.

Hi everyone!

After all this time I have been a member, I haven't said a word. Well since I just got my car out the shop from putting the MS front, MS sides, and Aero rear, I must be heard! =D

I drive a VR 04 6 speed and today around 2ish I saw a white 8 in the AMES area.... with chrome rims that seemed to look like a girl. Anyone in the club?

I'll post some pix of the car as soon as I upload it from the cam. The weather has been BEAUTIFUL the last two days.

It's almost FEBRUARY and FEMA hasn't taken the trailer away yet..... It's messing up my LAWN.

I purchased the MS front and side from ACCOLADE and the Aero rear from Mazdaparts as a GOLD MEMBER

I'll take better pix when the weather gets better.

Believe it or not, I used a sledgehammer handle to roll the fenders. It toook me a while, but it did the trick. The tires in the rear were so close, all I did was pry the handle between the tire and fender. I took baby steps all the way around and increased pressure on every pass until it was enough. Alot of old school people use baseball bats, but I just happened to be cleaning out my trunk and when I removed the sledgehammer from my trunk............. stupidity struck. but it worked. I do alot of things at weird times. LIke.. I mounted my trunk spoiler in the middle of the night outside. I started when the sun went down, so I had to finish. It to looks good.

Thanks. I don't see too many 8's in the area with the MS kit let alone modded at all. Do we have meets in the area?
