I'm in Monroe. Tre (AForce8) and I have been trying to get something together in Louisiana, but haven't found many others interested in the idea. I'm one of the main organizers for the Quad State BBQ that will be held in Texas in the fall though and there will be loads of 8's, as well as 7's at that event. The tentative date is the second Saturday in October, which is the 14th & we're still working on the location.

Y'all should try to make it up for that. Our Most Distant Traveler award last year went to Jack Coxe from New Orleans.

 

Maybe we can have a winter BBQ in NO???

Whats up guys! I was getting worried. I thought I was the only one around here.lol. I do see a few 8's in Metarie, but none really modified. I've been having my exhaust since last year, and I just saw a red 8 with exhuast 2 weeks ago. Im always around, town. I live in Destrehan, my main office is in Metairie(Power and Veterand blvd), I also run stores in Marrero (Barataria and Lapalco) and Mandeville (Hwy 190) I have a winning blue 8 with Greddy exhaust and I just put some Volk sf challenge on this weekend. If you see me just honk.Sometimes I'm in a white company van,so if a strange person honks at you in a white van.....It was me!!!!! lol

I would drive down except that it's on Sunday afternoon and it takes me 4 hours to get down there and then it would take me 4 to get back. Too bad it isn't on Saturday.

Astro, got your voicemail. Thank you for calling. Not much of an Rx-8 contingency today. However, My boy CASANOVA did show in his beautiful Winning Blue 8 with the 19" Gunmetal Volks and Greddy exhaust. Very nice indeed.

I know I posted with somewhat of a short notice here. Next time, we hope to get more of the local 8's to join us. Astro, we look fwd. to having you join us as well.

I couldn't make it either..i was at scrapin' the coast and i got back late..i tried going to the lakefront at 3 but it was too late

 

Surfrgurl, we'd love to have you join us next time. We are actually working on renting out No Problem Raceway for some track time. Should only be $100 a head.

Looks like there are at least 4-5 Rx-8 owners that I've been in contact with now. Hopefully you all can make it out next time.

BTW, CASANOVA'S exhaust sounded killer. He'll be lowering his car soon and those Volk's are gonna look even better.

sounds good just let me know and i'll def. try to make it out, but try to let me know as early as you can so i can request off..i have been dying to get exhaust but i just started a new job and i don't have time to take my car to get things done, but i've never heard an 8 with exhaust, but i've heard a 350z with exhaust and it is awesome and i only can imagine thats how the 8's sound

 

July and August are bad times for me cuz I work alot, but I'll try to make it

 

I've been quiet lately but just started popping back into the forum. Seems post-Katrina activity in the NO Metro area is picking up! I've seen a lot of 8's around town lately. I'll have to check out that rotary club and will be looking out for fellow 8's on the road around town...

 

Do you work in metairie? I saw a white 8 at Comp Usa. Yesterday in Marerro, the I saw a green 8 with red calipers and exhaust. It looked good

 

I'll be back in the area Aug 16th! I've been in a 5 month engineering course for the army guard and yes, it sucked profusely.

 

The white 8 at Comp USA would most likely be mine.

Not yet. Ive been so busy at work. I haven't gotten a chance to research coilovers. so I'm still driving the"4x4" lol. the rear is not that bad, I would like the front to be lower. The back tires rub when I pull up into my driveway too fast. I'm looking to make the rear stiff but lower the front. so Im kind of confused about spending alot of money on the tein flex or just get the basic.
