Monique, thanks for the info!
It's the Southern Tire on Dickory & Airline, not Edwards. Their # is 737-1559. So, you like Nitto's? I always heard they were cheap so I shyed away from them.

They are working for me. I have 17K miles on them and the only problems I have had are when contractors let nails fall all over the street.

Though I'd chime in. Got my 2004 Winning Blue GT a couple weeks ago. Was still bone stock except for an ugly ding in the right rear wheel arc . Love the car. Drives like a dream on rails. Been through quite a few sports cars in the past including 5 Z's (71, 76, 77, 78, 93), 85 GSLSE "7", several Integras and Preludes, Celica, Mustang, Probe GT........

This is by far my favorite.

First thing I did was run it thorugh the paces, since it's still under warantee, and made a list of bugs and checked the service buletins, then had Parretti fix everything on warantee. (Wouldn't recommend those jokers) Got the new "P" flash and WOW it was really a big difference overy my "pre-N". Had a burnt coil and plug wire. Did the AC Amplifier thing...air is ice cold now. Slapped on some Unorthodox Pulleys the other day (Alternator nut was a b*tch). Nice increase without any noticable side effects (yet). Also got the 6-disk changer on Ebay for only 115 (WOW) and the Audiolink USB MP3 play (very sweet). Now I'm waiting on my REVi with Ram air.

Hey, one of you jokers came running after me at PeP Boys the other day (another blue 8). Thought you were crazy, but now I see we have quite a presence in the area.

Anyways be see'n ya around.

Welcome to the forum wildman.

The crazy man would be Casanova. He was going crazy with his camera that day. He still hasn't caught me yet.

He said somebody at Pepboys and there is Casanova's 8 on the left.

And yeah that black 8 is just sitting there... Wonder if I could get any parts from it before it's towed.

Nobody I know of around here has a turbo. But if there is one, I hope they come to the que to brag.... Did you start working on a turbo for the 8?

Ps. I just installed my hid upgrade 6000k bulbs for my car. Must say that I'm loving it. Not too blue but not too yellow. You know how when you turn on the lights and the first 10 seconds have that awesome color then it fades away.. Well these bulbs stay that color.

Well, no turbo yet. I'm waiting on some way to reprogram the stock ecu, like the AccessPort. I haven't found any piggy-back that really works all that well (anyone had luck with the eManage Ultimate?) I'm also thinking that with a real need for more bottom end, a supercharger might be the way to go. Most of the turbos I've messed with don't really get going until 3000 rpms or so, and the 8 could really use a kick in the pants a bit lower.

My next ventrue is to tackle the Twin Power Ignition Upgrade. I already blew one of my stock coils. Every car I've had, I've upgrade the ignition to a high power, multi-spark, and in every case it just made the car idle and drive a lot better.

Has anybody local done some kind of coil or ignition ampliphier upgrade??

Hey Roger, next time I'll stop for a chat

I'll also try to talk the wife into going to the QUE this weekend. She doesn't much like my facination with cars, but does love a social event. I'd like to listen to some different exhausts that you folks have gone to, to see which one I want. Sound clips don't do the real thing justice.

Later, Bill J.

Help :wallbash:

I know this isn't the thread for this, but most of you are my buds and I need your opinions... How do you think black wheels will look on my 8? Something like these?

Mike if I get them & they don't look good on the red, you want them for the yellow (Connie's gonna kill me, huh?)?

I thought you said you didn't like black rims on VR?

I'm not too fond on rims with fat spokes... Thats just my .02 cents

I wasn't sure if I liked them or not. I like the wheels. But I wasn't sure about on the VR. I've seen & liked them on black, blue & silver. Well, nvm that I found some I like better... how about these boys? Anyone want my 19" BZ-11's???

You must have not read my previous posts in this thread if you took it there in the first place.

Monique:

I like the ones that aren't black. Of course, that opinion could change if I saw the black ones on an 8

I think black on a VR would look good. I like the fat lip on them.

Who has the REVi Intake Kit and the REVi Ram Air Duct from Racing Beat? I called Monique to get her opinion, since she is RX8 Goddess/Sage/Oracle, but she only bought the Intake Kit. So I'm wondering if the Intake Kit and Ram Air Duct help.

I'm thinking of getting the flash from Racing Beat, but, from what I know about RX7s, if you change anything, such as the flash/chip, you have to mod the intake and exhaust. I can't decide whether I want to change all 3 at one time, of it I want to do this piecemeal.

Hopefully someone at the BBQ will have all this. I also wanted to check out RX8 Race Exhaust System http://racingbeat.com/FRmazda4.htm.

Thanks! (Yes, and I also might post this in the mods or the general sub forums...was just hoping someone here had done the mods so I could see, feel, hear them personally.)

I do have it all... no, wait, I need the ram air duct & screens... dammit! Mike (astrox) has the whole REVi set-up w/o the exhaust & flash. I have the RB cat-back exhaust which is what I think they've renamed REV8 (?). That race exhaust wasn't available when I bought mine ~pouts~. I'm telling you; get that flash! But don't let me build you up too much, it won't make you zoom to the moon! I (obviously) changed my exhaust & intake at great intervals with no issues.

Hey icecold, nice seeing you today. Sorry 'bout the CEL! Come to the que!

Hey thanks btw Roger.

John- I'd call RB if I were you (I like Jim Tanner there) and let them explain the fuel map changes and such. IMO it really isn't necessary to do everything at once, but if you can & want to go for it. To me it isn't like dropping a turbo kit into it or piggy backing the ecu. I noticed an increase in performance just with the flash (you've read my excitement. lol.). Before that other than brakes & suspension mods all I had was the exhaust. And the REVi sounds great btw. Of course the increase in power is seen (felt) at higher RPM. My mpg has dropped to around 12 but that's all my fault, I hardly leave third gear!

Nite everyone.

Oh... My friend Lee & I had a semi photoshoot tonight. We suck at photography btw... light conditions didn't help (since we wasted daylight making fun of some riced out Galant) and I'm still trying to figure out my new digicam. Yep, excuses... excuses. Here ya go...

Nice pix Monique. Your really making me want to do the RB Flash, but due to the warranty of my car, I'm not willing to yet.... Unless I get an OKAY from Keith saying he could work something out for me.... I know that putting the pulley voids my warranty but HAVE SOME HEART KEITH!

Skwidd - I have the K&N Drop In w/ RB Air Duct & REV8 Exhaust. I can't really tell you the difference in gains from each because I did everything at once! Including the AP Pulley. My car definitely feels faster. The RB Air Duct makes the car kinda whistle which I think is awesome. I LOVE IT!
