Just moved down from Michigan. (yesterday)

I heard of the track that was mentioned in an earlier post. Track days are alot of fun. I have not taken the 8 out for a track day YET!! I will have to see about some upcoming events. I think it would be fun to get it out. That price is about the norm for track days. (Not bad if you get alot of laps).

I moved down from Bay City which is 100 miles north of Detroit. I'm currntly living on The Marine/Navy Base.

I here ya about people talking about how great the 8 is for fun driving, yet all they have for experience is driving from street light to street light and a few curvy roads. Granted not all are that way!

Open track days are a controlled environment and are a lot of fun. There are always people with track experience to ride along and help with your line and tactics.

I will be trying to get to the track to check out the facilities some time.

 

cool cool. Yean i know about not making track days but one day we will get everyone there. there are a couple people in here that have made some but they havn't posted in a while.

 

well, i was in mandeville today and i met a guy with another Blue 8. Hes from Baton Rouge, has black rims, 6spd, dunno what else. Was with his girlfriend *who lives in mandeville* and she was getting really upset that we were talking about our cars, so i dunno if we will be seeing much of him. I told him about the site and what not, so we shall see.

I'm without my 8 for the second night in a row.

Why, you ask?

Because I'm finally getting new paint on the front cap!!! YAY!!!

The rock chips were so bad they needed to completely strip the hood and fenders and they had to fill in some small chips on the front bumper cover. That's pretty hardcore.

I'll get pics up hopefully monday or so. I'm hoping to get it back tomorrow. It's at a friend's body shop.

On another note, I bought a new front mask. So I have an extra hood cover if anyone wants it. You know, the strip of front mask that goes on the front of the hood. Just PM me if you want it and I'll see about getting it to whoever wants it.

Either someone wants it, or I'm gonna put it on my head and we all know what happened in weird science.

 

nah man, like he pulled up next to me in traffic, revved and took off. So i caught up, passed him, played around a little without getting to crazy, then pulled over in a sub-division. He pulled next me, and i said *nice car*. Soon as i said it, she instantly went *OH MY GOD (and slapped her forhead)* and the whole time we talked she was gettin annoyed.....i lol it when girls do that.

I think thats y i'm single still *besides i'm ugly*.....i want a girl who actualy likes cars, hahaha ................................and yea i'll keep dreaming on that one to....lolz

 

nice, time to get rid of those chips....i got a ******* huge one about 1/2inch above the winshield on the drivers side...........******* dump trucks.

 

I've started to just get in another lane when I see a dump truck or semi. Oh...and when I see a pickup hauling a trailer. Some asshat was towing a trailer that had tiny bits of concrete in it. He hit a bump and the person behind him got pelted.

 

Hi boys. Sorry I’ve been so wrapped up lately and haven’t been online. I miss you guys. I spoke with both Mike & John (since they called to be sure I wasn’t dead, lol- I bet if I were they just wanted dibs on my parts, heehe). Ted- I just got your PM about track day... Shoulda called. So I’ve spoken with Mike, John & Roger. How is everyone else doin? I haven’t been on any forums and barely on myspace. I’m good, sorry I worried some of you. I just got all wrapped up with work, Des, starting a new business and I got sick blah blah blah…

As some of you know, my 8 was down for TWENTY SIX DAYS!!! Ugh. In fact I started shopping around for another car (yeah… me!). But it’s all good. Once I pulled outta Ducote I thought “WTF was I thinkin’?! I LOVE this car!” Haah. It’s a long story that I don’t feel like typin’ ( peck peck peck Roger :] ). To sum it up- car ran hot and went into limp mode. It was a fan motor is all. But it took that long for the flippin part! Oh and after 2 CEL’s and two O2’s, I need a new cat. I had a little fun on the expwy with a guy in a VR the other day. Who is he? He knew who I was. And although I took em, it seemed he may have had a little more umph that I. Hopefully the new 02 and cat will bring me “up to speed”.

I def think it’s time for another get together; Maybe at my house this time. Pool party?! I just don't have as much space as astrox. Ideas?

Rem what happened to me last summer?! On hwy 90 debris went thru my windshield while I was driving! Shattered the whole thing. It was horrific!


Not ALL girls! Hay- There are some guys who hate girls’ liking of cars too- believe it or not! And I “hear” they can be jealous of girls’ relationships/friendships with guys who share their passion for cars!

I know it can be tempting when u don't have a car. my buddy has finally settled with mazda after going round and round for weeks *yea he pussied out on this bigtime, but like i said from the beginning....i think he just baught the car cause he wanted to be cool*, and mazda agreed to fix it as long as he buys a new stock intake system from them, and they install it with the new motor

as for a pool party...i have a big house, big pool, and lots of area to park...but you guys would have to drive up here

*o and the pool has a permanant greenish stain on it, thanks to clearwater pools and spa in mandeville for lieing to us and selling us the wrong ****.

 

heh yea, that happened to my work truck one time, piece of assphault about 3in. in diameter landed in the passenger seat.....

As far as the girl thing...it works both ways i guess, tho i've never emt a guy like that...but :/

I'll give him a buzz. I have a brand new front mask to throw on, so hopefully I can keep the rock chips to a minimum. Also, we put gray primer on (they took the paint down to the metal the chips were so bad), so I won't have white specks all over when I get rock chipped. Grrrrr!!!

I'll have to see how long I have to let it cure before I can put that front mask on. Hopefully not long, as I will be heading to Navarre Beach in about 3 weeks.

I call you not to complain about rocks, but because you're a chick who loves cars!!! Ask RXH8TD about chicks and cars. He'd fall in love with you (and just join the rest of us!!!)

Also, Happy B-Day, Bill! Hope you guys had fun. I was stuck at home waiting to see if my god-child was going to have her first kid. She didn't, but will in the next 2 weeks.

No mods to the 8, I like it the way it is, besides I put all the extra money towards the race cars. BTW, my son won his first race this weekend in the Kart.
Just wish Ic ould've been there, although I did here it over the phone!

Anyways keep me informed of get togethers and track days, I will be trying to get out to the track in Baton Rouge this weekend. Is any one heading out there this weekend? I have the weekend off and plan on driving out for the day to check it out.
