Here is the thread discussing the issues:
https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-trouble-shooting-95/car-goes-nuts-180239/

It seems like an issue from the battery, but the battery checked out fine. Possibly a connection problem, or FOB coding problem. I'm a bit too far to drop by myself.

I'm going to put my bets on the engine being flooded.

When i push the unlock or the lock button on the factory alarm my gauges start going crazy back and forth, the car wont start at all, the lights are flickering like crazy and a bunch of other stuff. I have a buddy who told me that it could be the actual alarm that is messing up the rest of the system and i need to reset it. It cant be the engine flooded cuz the starter wont even spin to try and crank the motor. Its hard to explain but i guess its just gonna sit till i have the money to tow it to the dealer and get it checked or till some1 can come check the car out in person and give me some ideas.

Sounds stupid but I had to do this to my Mercedes CLS-55 once when it did the same thing.
Disconnected the battery for a few hours so anything in the computer that might be a "bug" would discharge.
Then hooked the battery back up and it like "cleared itself". Kind of like rebooting a computer.

786 Motoring is the place to go. Both Sifu and I had ours rolled there. Good guys. It is $25 a corner, you'll only need your rears rolled, and ask them to cut some of the rear wheel well liner off. They should remember what they cut off of our cars.
