Car goes nuts!!
When i push the unlock button on the factory alarm my gauges start going crazy back and forth, the car wont start at all, the lights are flickering like crazy and a bunch of other stuff. I have a buddy who told me that it could be the actual alarm that is messing up the rest of the system and i need to reset it. Does anybody know what it could be?
Anything would help to get my baby running again!!

KITT is probably just complaining again....
(sorry, couldn't resist)
it's odd, sounds partly like the immobilizer is kicking in, but I've never heard of it reacting like that. It should be just the security light flashing when you try to start it. I don't think the panic button is supposed to affect your gauges either, so I don't think you are refering to that.
What is the reaction if you hit the Lock button and if you hit the panic button? If they all act up, might need a dealer to fix or replace the FOB, as a guess. If it is just unlock acting up...i don't know. Check your battery's charge? Try jumping it? Throwing guesses out there really

What if you lock, and then unlock the door with the key itself? What happens?
Also, AFTER you check that, try cycling the key in the door lock 3 times (lock, unlock, lock, unlock, lock, unlock) and then the same in the ignition, between ACC and ON. I forget which one, but one of them tries to match the key to the ignition again. Maybe the code got lost from a battery issue?
Let us know.

Well i tried all of the abobe and it didnt work but now the gauges work fine except for the radio display. It keeps coming on then turning off and when i tried all my light the headlights wont come on but all the rest do. I went to autozone and got the battery checked and its good. I cleaned the terminals but the positive gets really bad with the corrosion.
I cant think of what else to do besides take it to the dealer and pay an arm and a leg for them to just check!

It's got me stumped then. The symptoms really seem like a weak battery or starter.
I would recommend posting in the Gulf forum (covers TX), see if there are any 8 owners within driving distance that would be willing to come to you and help you out.
What year/transmission/miles/trim do you have?

Yeah, your only bet other than local help (unless someone that has dealt with it sees this thread), is going to be the dealer, and you are out of warranty
Head down to the Gulf regional forum and see if you can get anyone local to you to assist, there are quite a few people in the Houston area.

I replaced mine when i first got the car cuz i bought the car used. I checked the one i have now at autozone and the machine said it was good. It cant be the battery though cuz everything comes on its just the car wont start and my headlights wont come on wen i try to turn them on either. Everything else works though. Im just tryin to find someone from the houston area to see if they can come look at it cuz i cant go no where and i really dont want to pay an arm and a leg to get it checked.

I hate to say this but this is probably a dealership item.
My best advice is to get a set fee for troubleshooting when you take it in. Don't let them charge you by the hour to troubleshoot.
