I don't know the answer, but those aren't it. Unfortunately you can't legislate away ignorance. Folks have to educate themselves that there are ******** in the world who want to cheat them. If they choose not to learn the easy way by reading the stickies in the FS forum and the anti-fraud information in Paypal, they will have to learn the hard way.

We should help when and how we can, like when I helped get the ******* this thread is about booted again, and when I posted a big "CAUTION" on a similar FS thread with a new user with zero posts. But ultimately we can't always protect people from their own ignorance.

And when you do get scammed, don't bend over and take it! Fight like hell. VS8 tried to screw me by misrepresenting what he was selling, then refusing to take responsibility or refund my money. It wasn't much money but I started a Bad Guy thread and got my money back, though he never did take responsibility. The astonishing thing was how many people publicly announced in that thread they are willing to bend over and get screwed if the dollar amount is small enough. Never do that! Let scammers get away with anything and they'll keep going for bigger payoffs!

pick one of them !!! well if you used one of them you are making them work for the money

I'm wondering, how many have actually read the Classifieds Section Rules.

Thanks guys for your advice.
I eneded up telling the guy to ship me the part and I would send him payment after I receive it. After all I did send money before and he could not access it, thankfully.

Every one of your suggestions for rules would have excluded me, a reliable trader, from buying and selling on this forum.
Three of them would still exclude me.

one of the best sellers in the forum ?? why cuz 14 feed back
Where did I say I was "one of the best"? I said "a good seller". Reading comprehension fail.

Yes, I'm a good seller "cuz" I have good feedback score with no negatives. That means I can be trusted more than somebody with a low or no score.

I agree with you. I do not agree with your idea for doing it.
A first principle in any ethical community is you do not punish people who haven't done anything wrong.
That's why I think your "rules" are a bad idea.

It be nice if it was a modified version like 7club. The whole you have to have X amount of posts to even post in a certain section. If it was like at least 10 posts in a major thread section to open a thread to sell something it would be just a roadblock for scammers to get through. Just a thought
