ERX8, I feel for your situation, and as pissed as you are , maybe it's time to eat crow- call him and apologize for the threatening phone call .We all do stupid things in the heat of the moment. I have read all the posts from day 1, I have a few questions.

If I was a delivery service and and a shipper told me "it never got there" in direct contradiction to delivery confirmation, confirmation that they already acknowledged, I'd tell them to go pound sand.

 

I believe the second that Eric said "Hey, there is no kit here" that had an insurance claim been initiated then further investigation would have occurred, and the kit might have been found or at the very least the money given to Eric.

In the end however, I guess Eric is out his turbokit, as is Luxluc and pretty much anyone else not based in the USA, so there is very little to talk about on this score.

I think the reality that everyone needs to come to grips with here is that there is no need for Jeff to do anything. The people who trust him will still trust him and those that do not will not, and so it matters little to his life or to his business. Nothing said here is going to accomplish anything.

The USPS informed me - both at the shipping location and in a letter from the office of the Post Master General - that the liability insurance on the package only extends as far as the acknowledgment of receipt by the foreign postal service.
I realize that many of you are convinced otherwise, but I also realize and accept that most of you screaming to the contrary are windbags with no direct experience with matters such as this.
The French Post says they delivered it, the USPS accepts that as delivery confirmation and that is where it goes cold.
If I were in a position to send this lying douchebag another kit, I would do so just for the PR value, but that is beyond my means at this point.

The "Proof" of Delivery shows an article is sent/delivered, but it does not show who signed for it.

Only the Sender (MM) can initiate a claim at his end, he paid for the Insurance and this is how claiming happens all over the world....how can a recipient claim for something 'he says' he has not received, and does not posses original receipts as required by USPS?

Priority Mail International (USPS) there is a 6 month time frame for making a claim, so in this case up to February 18th 2012.

A physical trace by USPS to French authorities will then establish who actually signed for said goods.

The receipt and tracking page indicate that the shipment was sent Express Mail International, and insured for $2,300. However, according to the manual, the maximum insurance available on Express Mail International is $650. Only Global Express Guaranteed can be insured for up to $2,499.
