Evo X was faster even though it felt softer and is chunkier. Amazing what a good chassis allows you to do. Kinda like the 8 huh?

i like the photoshopped taillights. the factory ones would have to be changed asap if i owned it.

The 5-spoke rims look good. Just not a hatch man as in GTI, Mazda 3 style hatches. The Mazda 6 notchback, liftback, hatch I like better. I think I'd go with a wagon over a hatch if I was going for added functionality and fast.

I think I may be starting to lean towards the new STI... I know a lot of people hate it but I love it! We'll see how it drives...

wow, they just priced themselves out of the market. This might be a big hit overseas where hatches are still much more desired than sedans... but in the US Market - a $35k hatch is not going to cut it.
I know the STI is a lot more than "just a hatch", but im just saying from the mass american consumers standpoint... its just a hatch.
Oh and i actually like the way the new STi looks (except for the tail lights). I think i might be the only person on earth who feels this way. LOL.

This is the same kind of doomsday nonsense people said about the new WRX. It has broken sale record two month in a row since its release. The STI never has and never will be for the mass market, it's a niche car and always will be. Subaru will have little problem selling every single STI they send to the US and anywhere else and they'll do so for close to MSRP.

Sorry for trolling, I actually check out this forum with my friend (jkeown) who has an RX8, but I happen to have the 06 STi. I agree they are ugly and always have been. There ya go, the honest truth
I will say it is kind of ironic that people over on some Subaru forums mention it looks more like a Mazda 3 than anything else. I have to agree, not that it's a bad thing. I will submit Subaru finds ways to make the car uglier every time, and somehow you see that backlash turn into love later on - amazing. These things have a face only a mother can love, and it shows it's gotta be fun to drive if it's so ugly right? Yea, it outweighs the looks.
Why don't I have an evo, you say? They're fun too!
Definitely. I just don't like the idea that Mitsu doesn't consistently turn a profit (warranty?), dropped out of WRC the last few years, and I don't trust the engines to last 100k miles with even the stock tune. Interior anyone?
FWIW - We had a tight RX8 dash install meet the other night, I'm sure he'll post some pictures of the hot action later today.

Base sti is 35k add on the BBS rims (wern't they standard last time) and it jumps up 2-3k.
Thats an expensive hatch. I think Mitsu is going to geta few customers of their GSR trim Evo.

As for the Evo comment... Overall I give the STI the slight nod when it comes to reliability and build quality. However, that doesn't apply to the engine. I'll trust the 4g63 over the EJ25 every time. Just take a look at what is going on with the '07 STI engines, it's not pretty and just confirms again that the 4g63 is the more stout powerplant.

The quality of the evo is much better than a typical mitsubishi, agreed. It is a good car, don't get me wrong. It's just much easier to daily drive and not die in the Subaru.

Momentum Keeps Me Going
I don't know, Subarus and this STI sound like they could be a rush, but I guess enjoying how they look isn't. Photoshoped above - whoever you are - great job! Too bad, no... make that a tragedy ... that Subarudu-san didn't hire you like a few years ago!
You could have saved lots of people retnal damage. I look at the OEM STI pics and my brain just winces and thinks - What WERE they thinking? Let's hope it drives good enough to compensate or it's easy to turn it into the above.
