'McLaren considering Heikki'
Heikki Kovalainen could make a return to McLaren next season if Lewis Hamilton decides to leave the team, according to a report.

Hamilton's contract with the Woking-based squad runs out at the end of this campaign and, although there have been indications that both parties want to renew it, speculation linking him with a move to Mercedes refuses to go away.

I think there could be better choices, BUT, I do believe Heikki deserves another shot at the sharp end of the grid.

Alonso considered better than Schumacher

'Alonso the best driver in 20 years'
While Michael Schumacher certainly outnumbers the Spaniard in terms of race wins and Championship titles, Briatore is of the opinion that Alonso is the superior driver.

"Fernando Alonso is the best driver of the last 20 years," he told Sky Sport 24

I am very curious too see how the silly season plays out. Where will Hamilton end up?

Is it true he is going to Mercedes and Shumacher is retiring again?

Who will go to McLaren? There is some serious talent in some of the back marker teams will they be swept forward?

Looking forward to the race although it is normally a snore fest, hoping Pirelli mixes up the tires to create a false excitement in a normally boring, although visually stunning, race.

That is concerning that Renault alternators are still failing. I really hope RBR has this sorted out. 2 NDF's due to such a silly problem is completely unacceptable.

Oh, and Briatorre has a short memory. While I agree Alonso is very talented, he lacks the success and is not dominating the way Schumacher did. Car? Driver? Setup? Who knows....

According to who knows him... Car and Race engineers behind him.
Ferrari and Schumacher dominated in an era when the other teams were a non-factor, except for mclaren. Now you have 3 excellent cars (RBR, McLaughlin and Renault) and a car that's playinc catch up (Ferrari).
Jean Todt isn't working for ferrari anymore either and we all know how smart Domenicali is in tight situations...

In my opinion Alonso is one of the best 3 drivers ever in terms of complete package (which is what ultimately wins championships!). Schumacher fits in the top 3 as well.

Thought about this the other, night, I would love to see Giancarlo back in the Ferrari if Massa is leaving. That would put an Italian in an Italian car like McLaren and Mercedes.

Friday means nothing but interesting that as, anticipated by some, Red Bull is quick again.

It will be interesting tomorrow morning to see who is where. Kimi already proclaiming his car is a mess.

Fisico probably lost his form given his absence.
Redbull has a lot of aero grip on mid speed circuits... Alonso said that Ferrari lost a step vs them during this qualifying in terms of performance.
However having less grip may be a good thing for a driver capable of doing 50+qualifying laps in a row... a track like this kills the tyres and having less grip may give an advantage in terms of durability over the course of a race.

The 2013 season will start in Australia on 17 March and includes a new race in New Jersey USA, according to a calendar released to teams.

The schedule, which is provisional but expected to be approved next week, contains 20 races.

Sixteen of the races are 'back-to-back' events on consecutive weekends.

The New Jersey race, called the Grand Prix Of America, is one of three subject to confirmation alongside the races in Singapore and South Korea.

Unfortunatley, towards the end, Fisi was struggling even when he was a regular driver. The guy did have his magic moments though, too bad it didn't work out at Ferrari...and damn Bador was just abysmal...which is also a shame as he and Wurz were probably the best test drivers in the game.

There are fun stories about Fisichella still going on on the various gokart tracks we have here

Moreover...
Liuzzi should make a comeback, he really is a good second driver.

Liuzzi did great when the Toro Rosso cars were the equal of Ferrari. But, I don't think he will make a comeback. He's been out of F1 for too long for one reason.

Hamilton did an astounding job.
We have to pray that their tyres wear quicker because of that pace...

Vettel is driving a mighty race as usual. We'll see what Button has. Alonso has been impressive as well. Maldanado lost a bit at the start.
