Can't wait for the testing to begin. As stated in '11 thread: Alonso champion with Hamilton vice champion and a few podiums with atleast 1 win for Schumacher.

Patrick Head says goodbye to F1
Williams Grand Prix Holdings PLC today confirms that Director of Engineering Patrick Head will step down from its Board of Directors with immediate effect. Patrick co-founded Williams F1 in 1977 with Frank Williams and over three decades has led the team’s engineering department.

While Patrick was at the team, Williams F1 has won 113 Grands Prix and secured nine Constructors’ and seven Drivers’ World Championships.

I don't know too much about F1 and how it works, but I've been able to watch a few races recently and I'm starting to figure it out I think. Anyway I'm excited about Lotus and Räikkönen, even if they're not super competitive. I've always liked Lotus and I can't wait to see how they do this season.

The lotus from 2011 is not the same team as it is in 2012. The original lotus team will be called caterham and Renault will officially become lotus. I'm also curious to see how raikkonen will do. I'm also hoping red bull will be overtaken. I'm very curious to see how Mercedes will do this year.

Let's all hope that Ferrari will bring something home.
I'm not used to this abstinence!

In an ideal world i'd also hope for a Nando - Vettel - Schumi menage à trois with some voyeurism by button and hamilton. I wouldn't mind watching Nando compete alone and win though.
No good for Mclaughlin...

You saw what happened in silverstone when they banned the blown diffuser for that race right? Alonso won by 20 seconds. I have a feeling red bull will be where they belong next year. The fourth to sixth row. Ferrari on the first, McLaren on the second, Mercedes on the third and the rest scattered in the midfield. First three rows battling for victories. Hopefully Schumacher grabbing atleast one and a tight championship between Alonso and Hamilton. Massa, rosberg and button fighting for p4. Maybe raikkonen having a surprise here and there.

I foresee a more even competition between Ferrari, McLaren and RB for race wins. But McLaren will take the team championship because they have the best two team drivers. The #2 driver for Ferrari & RB aren't up for a strong finish.

I wonder if the aero elements is the reason why these models are released so late. The MP4/25 was just released like last month, and the 26 won't be out till next winter or sth.

It's the pieces underneath that they want to keep secret. Evey body can see what's on top. With model cars, you don't have to detail the bottoms.
I remember Schumacher getting off track and trying to keep the car level while it was being lifted off the ground. Just to keep people from seeing what the bottom looked like.

Redbull isn't just about rule "interpretation"... Newey is a real genius and deserves a lot of credit. Vettel is, well, Vettel too.

Alonso borders on psychopathy. Take him off of the podium and he will start driving like a madman. Put him on top and the other teams have to pray that something breaks... Have you noticed how he fought even when the car behind was .4" faster and he had no chance to win anyway? Vettel had to overtake him on the grass at the Monza gp...

Montezemolo considers future drivers
Luca di Montezemolo has admitted that he has considered a number of potential future drivers for Ferrari in case Felipe Massa does not perform in 2012.

Massa's disappointing season in 2011 has led to speculation that he could be replaced, and while Ferrari insists it will see out his contract Montezemolo has confirmed the next year will be key. In the case of Massa losing his seat, Montezemolo admitted he had been casting his eye over the rest of the grid for potential options in 2013.

Montezemolo on massa sounds a lot like "We have his family so he must perform better".

French Grand Prix close to 2013 return
The return of the French Grand Prix on the F1 calendar is thought to be so close to being confirmed that a provisional race date has been set for 2013.

Magny Cours was the last circuit to host the French Grand Prix in 2008 but the Bernie Ecclestone-linked Paul Ricard has emerged as the leading contender to host the next race, possibly alternated on a bi-annual basis with Belgium's famous Spa-Francorchamps.

Alternating Spa with anything else than Spa is a sacrilege.

Europe is having problems affording to put on a Formula One event. The French GP ended because of this and Belgium will in the future if something isn't done. I believe the promoters believe that the ticket sales will be higher if they only have an event every other year.
Why the high cost to put on an event? I believe we know that answer.
