2 words. Dave Ryan. "I just did what the team told me." Why not just come out and admit that you have no moral character?

Oh come on man. Do u honestly think hamilton came up with that whole idea on his own? I mean u don't even know if dave ryan told him to tell the truth.

I'm sorry, but man talk about a weak attempt to call somebody a whiner lol. Maybe if u msshopped hamilton crying, I would of gave u that.

But jokes aside blue, us silver knight will take u in our wings and teach u the way of our messiah

No I don't think he is smart enough to come up with this on his own. However, the lying to the stewards, he should be smart enough to not to do this, and then go on TV and cry about it.

Cry about it? For starters I didn't see any tears. What I saw was our team got caught tears. But what did u expect him to say on national tv? "Yah I done it bi!%tes, what u going to do abou it " we can sit here and joke around, but when it comes to team orders, its just team orders
. Happens all the time , he just got caught

Yep, look at what happened to Piquet Jr when he just "followed team orders". Good battle plan!

oh god , are u kidding me. Are u seriously comparing some guy who was willing to die, just so that he can keep racing, to some guy who lied to the stewards about his position?

What about the team orders from ferrari, pretty much telling massa to let kimi pass. So that kimmi can win the championship by one point

Its one thing to follow team orders to obfuscate the truth. Another to deliberately crash the car. From what was released from the interview with the race stewards Hamilton had gotten the instruction to obfuscate rather than tell an outright lie.

The morality of the situation can be discussed back and forth but at that point any person would be tempted to obfuscate, especially if told so by a senior manager. The situation would never have happened if Charlie had been able to answer McLarens questions whether or not Hamilton had passed Trulli legally.

But you are comparing the biggest scandal of the sport with something that happens all the time and making them equal. But then again, someone who is bent on finding something wrong is usually not too concerned about being level-headed or thought through about it.

USF1 Blog Update by Scott Bennett

Almost nobody knows it, but this team has come an unbelievably long way since it was first announced on Speed TV 11 months ago. I was at that press conference, and I was one of the first three or four people to start working on the design of the car shortly afterwards, all of us crowded with our computers around a wobbly conference table in a dreary, poorly configured former Nascar shop. I wish I had taken pictures. more...

Piquet said NO to F1 drive!

Nelson Piquet Jnr has said his move to NASCAR was caused by him being "sick and tired" of the row centring on the Crashgate scandal, although he added he had been offered a Formula One drive.

Last week he announced he was moving to the USA, and in an interview after testing in Florida he outlined the reasons behind his switch.

"I could've been [in F1] if I wanted to. A team offered me to be there. I just thought I was sick and tired of all of the stuff over there. I just took a decision of starting a new step in my career and a new challenge in coming to NASCAR.

"For a lot of people who are outside of America, it's a downgrade. But for people that really understand …maybe it's a downgrade in technology of the car, but in terms of career, of how big the sport is in a lot of ways it's even a tougher step than F1.

"The level of competition and the seriousness and the business of both series are very, very high. I was just sick and tired of things over there. I got a very, very good opportunity over here to start my career here and I'm here."

He also explained how the change being in NASCAR would bring to his way of life. "I had to balance a lot of things," he said. "I had to balance my happiness. I had to balance my opportunities. I had to balance a lot of things and I think the best thing that I came up with was the NASCAR route.

"I think the biggest factor is that I'm having a lot of people behind me helping me, wanting me to be here. A lot of people that I trust and I'm liking. So, all of that has been very good for me. I think that's what has played a big factor into the decision."

For a guy willing to crash his car and risk his life to stay in the series to suddenly drop out because he is sick of it? Something doesn't add up.

Lets face it no one wanted to touch him with a 10 foot pole.

It sounds strange, he would have made team names if this was true, or the team would have claimed this offer just to make his reputation respectable again...

If I remember correctly, there are only 3 seats left open. Campos has 1 and USF1 has 2 seats to fill yet.

Pit stops to take sub-3 seconds in 2010

F1 looks set to stage lightning-fast pit stops in 2010.

Williams spokeswoman Claire Williams revealed that the Grove based team was on Thursday practicing pit stops for the forthcoming season.

Refuelling has been banned for 2010, meaning that the only routine action to take place during pit stops this year will be the changing of tyres.

"The guys have made it into the sub-three second range to change a set of tyres!" she exclaimed.

^ I saw that Ferrari mock-up earlier today. I have to say I much rather like the older all red color. Oh it's going to be hard to choose who to root for... My favorite driver (LH) and second favorite team (Macca) or my favorite team (Ferrari). Most likely it will be for Lewis and Mclaren since I want to see Lewis beat MS and since I'm not an Alonso fan. This is going to be an exciting season. I can't wait.

Renault only has Kubica I think. Heidfelt is running for the second Renault seat. Hilarious if they become teammates again in another team.

I can really see Kubica going: Hey dude, didn't I leave you over at Sauber's garage?

You are correct. Renault only has Kubica. Toro Rosso only has Buemi. That means there are 5 seats still open.

And March is coming soon...
Is there a lost in interest from the pilots or what? Maybe with the new teams etc there are too many cars but not enough drivers capable of driving them :p

F1 noob question.

Why was refueling banned? I'm assuming it is because of the liabilities what with Kimi being caught on fire last year etc?

That's a little too bad IMO, fuel strategy was one of the few things keeping the races interesting...maybe they could focus more on researching refueling safety.
