A bit more trivia: The first RX-8 Grand-Am ST cars (like the FE cars we all drive---not the GT 3 rotors) ran on Motec engine management. This means the RX-8's stock ECM or ECU or whatever we choose to call it (like a Cobb) was a Motec. Plugged right into the stock wiring harness. Cars made about 215 rear wheel hp with a header made by Howerton. They used the stock airbox, stock internals, no porting, no tricky stuff. Basically a Mazda crate motor. 8,700 rpm ignition cut or rev limiter. Check that. 8,700 might of been a soft cut and 8,900 hard cut. One of the two.
Is there more info on the Howerton headers????? a website or something else where I can read up on it????

#41 came back out, completed 3 laps and caused a yellow flag =/, not sure what happened yet.
On the other hand, the caution put #70 right behind 2nd place car.

someone on stream said the #70 collided with Seb boardais earlier causing rear end dmg, took 6 laps to do the repair, thats why the 70 dropped.
