Backend a bit like the Porsche 928. Pretty distinctive.

I bet the rear over-the-shoulder visibility is a bitch in that thing.

Off topic but Mitsu should really completely revamp the Eclipse to try to salvage any part of the name "Eclipse" they can. They should go back to a small, efficient, light FWD/AWD turbo-4 car much like the first two gens. Sales couldn't be any worse than the current whale. Problem is, I'm sure they have absolutely no development money for something like this. I miss my beloved DSM.

I think that the picture with all of the people standing around the gray car was taken with a wide angle lens so the shot is slightly distorted.

At least thats what I am hoping anyway... I am holding off on my final judgement until I see the car in person at the LA Auto Show.

Officially Rated At 332 HP

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/11/n...ted-at-332-hp/

Images of the all new 2009 Nissan 370Z have been trickling out of Nissan for the past few weeks as a lead up to the car's official unveiling at the 2008 LA Auto Show. Details have been mostly speculation thus far, but now some of the rumors can be laid to rest, thanks to information in a photo caption from the LA Auto Show's website. The new Z will reverse the recent automotive trend of bloated model redesigns by featuring a reduced wheelbase and more lightweight body pieces. We also now know that its VQ37 engine will put down exactly 332 horsepower. That is a couple more ponies than are currently produced by the same engine inside the Infiniti G37. For those who like to rest their left foot while driving, a 7-speed automatic transmission will also finally be offered. And for those who enjoy some fancy footwork, but don't have a perfectly calibrated heel-toe, a rev-matching downshift system will be available for the 6-speed manual. Thanks for the tip, RDS!

It's also in the 40 - 45k range if I remember correctly, which put's it just a little too high IMO, I'm not really sure what market they are going after if they keep this alongside with the 350z

Why would they keep the 350z and it's replacement along side each other?

thats because of a big marketing effort by these guys

Hi,

My name is Paul Medley and I work at Marketingworks. I am currently partnered with Nissan to distribute content and updates around the launch of the all new Z. To kick off the campaign, we released new photos which you can find posted below. You might have already come across this content, but I just wanted to personally make sure you and your board members received these first-look photos. Feel free to do with them what you like (news, feature, thread, etc.). I realize this board is geared towards Mazda, but I do think a few of your community members will be excited to check out the new model.

Z Photos: http://nissannews.com/newsrelease.do...&id=610#photos
Total Photos: 3 (front, back, interior)

This is only the beginning, as the Z is about to embark on a journey across country called the Follow the Nissan Z North American Rally, which I should have some more details on soon.

Again, just wanted to share the photos and formally introduce myself to the team. I hope to share more exciting Nissan Z updates with your community in the future!

Many thanks,
Paul Medley
so they arent really "leaked" as some have stated.

I was looking at a 350z when I found the rx8 and the rarity (I had never seen an rx8 in person, yet i had seen 350z's on the road) + the handling and looks all swayed me to the rx, plus it helps that I LOVED the rx-7's and it was my dream to own a 3rd gen someday ........ so I figured the rx8 was just the next step up.

The current 350z starts at 28,510 and the range topper Nismo version is 39,680. This information is readily availble on the Nissan website, of all places.

I'm sure the 370Z will be higher than that which I think is what he's talking about.

Well he's talking about them raising the price 12 - 17 thousand from current base. That will not happen, there's just no way. I could see a few thousand $ increase.

On another note, some more pictures:

The large bottom is noice

I'll have to see one in person in black or blue to make a real assessment.
