The rear is alright. I wish it has a more fastback design like that concept 240Z. The front headlight is just not right. Oh well... if it is lighter and more powerful, it should be an improvement over the 350Z.

Wow, the *** of that looks really busy. From that angle looks over done but then again I think the Nismo 350Z looked a little over done.

My concern is that the saving grace for the rotary car, its lighter weight and superior handling balance, may be at least partially lost. Right now, the RX8 is around 300 lbs lighter than the 350z and down at least 70 HP. The 370z will be right about what the RX8 is, around 3010 lbs, while making 350 HP. So just to maintain the status quo, the next rotary car will need to be around 2700 lbs and 280 HP. Regarding weight, the current comparison is between a 4-seater (RX8) and a 2-seater, so ideally a 2-seat pure sports rotary car would be more than 300 lbs lighter than the 370z, but I don't think it will even hit 2700 lbs (300 lb difference). Nissan has really cut into Mazda's weight advantage philosophy (note that the US Mazda 6 is not any lighter than any of its competition). Regarding power, I believe the 16x will make the 280 HP, but in the next 3 years up until the next rotary car comes out, Nissan is sure to increase the power output of the 370z.
It just seems, unfortunately, that the only thing we rotary fans are going to have left to tout is superior handling balance. What do you guys think?

Based on a few recent reports, Mazda is really working hard on reducing the weight dramatically on all its platforms so I'm sure the next RX- will be no different. 2700lbs is definitely possible especially if the RX- car goes back to a much smaller FD-like 2-seater.

i dont think it makes sense to make a 2 seater, a big reason why the rx8 has out sold the rx7s is because its not a hardcore sports car and have its own niche. the utility of back seats and a forgiving soft suspension is important. doing a hardcore 2 seater rx sports car will most likely result in less sales.

Well I like it. I think the back looks heavy compared to the rest of the design, but like big bootied ladies, I think the look will grow on me. Black should look good. No pun intended.
Nice find!
