random things noticed..

The front overhang is not actually very large, nor the nose that big...lot of camera angle distortion in some shots.

Yes, where are the oil cooler vents? Is this a 'cool' rotary?

Lights in those curves under the headlights...but they are pointing down, not forward???

A lot of Furai waves in the front and esp. rear.

Bangle butt or what?

Rear visbility... doesn't look like any.

License plateless front end.

World's tiniest door handles.

I don't know how to post the image in the actual post not as a thumbnail but here is the rx8 concept... it's ugly as hell.... where's the oil coolers? door handles? headlights? You can't try and judge all the finer details on a concept

This is not the rx8 concept. This is the RX-Evolv. TOTALLY different. The only thing really the same is the renesis and suicide doors.

-An interesting thing about the renesis in this concept. The engine specs claimed an 11:1 compression ratio and 280HP. Wonder what happened?

That's an amazing concept. When I saw that this thread was 4 pages long, I assumed someone bumped a thread of some concept I missed...now I know why there's so much talk.

While it is a little busy in some places, it would not require too many changes to make it a reasonable production design. It's definitely a great start and a better direction than the "smiley". I didn't hate the smiley, but it wasn't a design that really grabbed me like this does.

Good job so far Mazda... don't let this get stuck as just another concept.

We can tell how secretive Mazda can be with this concept as a recent example. We didnt hear a hint of anything about it and all of a sudden, all this surfaces.

Could barely hear it, but I honestly thought it sounded too loud if anything. Have we seen/heard anything of the 16x running? Without knowing what the newly redesign engine sounds like, it's hard to tell. It definitely sounded a little deeper than I would expect if it's anything like the renesis, though with the right exhaust it's not impossible either... very hard to tell...

There was a video of the Mazda Taiki concept rolling around and onto a trailer. it has a 16x.

Its just the render being out of focus, you can clearly see the B pillar in the window, and in all the other renders the door seam is so minimal that if you were to blur them out as well you would also loose that seam.

The rear is very BMW X6ish to me

Regardless its sexy as hell,

This is the aforementioned bangle butt. Chris Bangle's BMW's all had this extra layer of rear decklid for some reason. The 6 and 7 series were the best examples. Some liked it, some hated it.
I own a bangle 3 series, so, lol, I'm on board.

Bangle works for Fiat now, if I remember right.

I don't think you are right about the B-piller. There is no B-piller shown there. What you see is the seat back showing thru the window...that's pretty plain to see I think.

Zoom, if some of this styling does make it to a new 4 door rotary car, we both would have been correct in assumptions for years that they would move the RX8 a little up market (Or whatever it could be called).

Ok, so here's an ehanced of that area. If it was a b-pillar you were seeing, the hoizontal light reflection would not flow across it evenly, but be interupted and distorted at that point. Instead there is a smooth light reflection straight across that says **GLASS** with something (like a seat back) showing coming from behind.

i think the image is definitely shortened compared to the 4 door as seen below. the front overhang is smaller in the pic with Maeda and the character line from the front wheel to the back wheel actually swoops up more at the back.

its probably deliberately squished since the wheels look out of round and the entire thing looks thicker
