sacraficing everything else? i dont think so.. I have more options such as, self dimming mirror/compass and bunch of performance goodies, including way better seats, rims, steering wheel in my STi that weren't in my 8..I happen the think the STi is just as good looking as my 8 was, just in it's on way. the only thing i sacraficed way a more flashy interior...I hate how peole who drive "performance cars" that arent up to par with others have to bring up subjective points such as looks.

I think people need to drive the thing, it is a totally different ballgame compared to your everyday RWD cruisers. It begs to be pushed where most cars would fall off and falter.

I personally think the only good thing about this car are the performance numbers. This is my opinion that I have posted and you have clearly posted yours. This is the purpose of the thread; is it not?

That is great that you love your car as I love mine, but don't bitch and moan the second someone disagrees with you.

I shut up and listen when people compare two cars they've actually owned. There's no experience like first hand experience.

Did you not read what I wrote.....I said that is the purpose of this thread; to post opinions!

I really don't care that you disagree with me or that you have owned both. I stated I do not like the STI. End of story. You said you do. End of story. Thanks for telling me how much you like it and how much better than the 8 you think it is, but I don't remember asking...

I like it much better than the current nose and headlights. As a whole I think the car looks good, but it does from certain angles look like the front half doesn't mesh so well well the back half. I think the redesign will be a big step forward and that we very well may see a 2 door hatch.

Haha, threatened? Ike, my friend, I am not threatened. I really don't care any more. Go grab an STI and post some vids of it! I am very excited and curious of what the new ones can do. Going to be exciting.

Hey, by the way....I saw a Top Gear a little bit ago where they tested the upcoming Evo against a Lamborghini Murcielago. The Evo actually out handled it, but came up just a tad short in accelleration. How will the STI stand against this? Evo vs. STI, who wins the 4 door rally saloons?

That Topgear had the FQ400 Evo going against the Lambo which is pretty different from the Evo 9 that is about to arrive. Though it's possible I missed an episode and they did another comparo with the Evo 9. As for Evo vs. STi the Evo usually comes out on top in the handling department but the new STi has a few tricks up its sleeve this year and all indications seem to point to it being faster around a track than previous models. I'm certainly looking forward to round 9 of the battle of the rally titans :D

after looking at a few more pictures I sort of like the former stylying more. Case in point:

and your right ike it was a FQ400 as a regular EVO 8 woulda been pounced on although top gear never really said that the FQ400 was a whole lot different then the stock EVO8 which i didn't think was too correct by them but o well.

More like round 9,000! Everyday I see a new Evo vs. STi article online or in a magazine. Only a demolition derby to the death will settle this. :D

by the time the STi's come out in hatchback form in 07 or 08... mitsubishi will be bankrupt -____-

with its horrible performance right now in WRC for the past couple of years and its idiotic mitsubishi eclipse which is getting horrible ratings in all the magazines... im sure the STi will be tearing up the spot!

I CANT WAIT FOR THE HATCHBACK STi!!! GOOD BYE CITREON!!!

Citroën is already gone, if you're refering to the WRC that is. Both Citroën and Peugeot have pulled out after this season is over.

The Eclipse really hasn't been getting bad reviews, and I don't think Mitsubishi is going anywhere any time soon. But you're most certainly right about them sucking wind in the WRC the last couple years, they're usually lucky just to finish a race :p

I think it looks worse, looks like they hired the retarded designer from pontiac. Did they do anything to the god-awful interior yet? I mean to get an STI to look as nice as an 8 would cost a fortune on top of the price of the STI for all the interior and exterior work.

I would buy that car on the condition that there are numerous body kits available. Specifically front bumpers.
