I am a hard working student i have been payoing my way for a long time i was lucky enough to get help from my parents with the car but everything else you see i payed for.
If money was an issue for you, your PARENTS shouldn't have bought you that gas guzzling car. They should have bought you a Dodge Neon then. Or like MOST people your age, a Honda Civic of some sort. Consider yourself lucky and move on... why all the excuses?

I just hope some day you will understand that you can't just be "bored" of something this expensive and hope your parents could bail you out all the time. Someone is going to pay for it... and obviously to all of us you aren't the one paying for it. Oh the gas, I remember...

You pay for the rent? You pay for the medical insurance? You pay for school tuition? etc? You pay for everything else right? Sure... like I said, step into the real world when you pay all your bills... that $80 gas per week will seem like you won the lotto.

alot of people on this forum think they are GOD and they are NOT

Actually you did say the Mini is MORE safe than the Rx-8.

You should serioulsy stop and think about it... Mini... smaller car... impact in a car crash... it's more safe than a bigger car? I think not. I don't need no crash test analysis to tell me that.

You didn't compare it to a Miata before, you compared it to the Rx-8.

For someone that "loves" our community and thought it was nice, you sure put our cars down a lot. You make it seem like the worst decision to buy this car, and on top of that you give false information about the car. Safety is WORSE than a Mini? You blamed the Door Ding because it's an RX-8? You do know that this happens to any car.

Thank you for insulting the REAL hard working people out there and those who strive to achieve higher. They work hard, pay their way when they were/are younger. No bitching or complaining, simply just kept on trudging along. I've met people younger than you without all this complaining about the car.

Yeah the rx8 is drop dead beautiful but its community is nothing to be proud of ( it has exceptions though) The MINI community are nice people they are not bitchy or arrogant or even walking with a pole up there Bum.

I just want you guys to know everyone that called me names etc can go F themselves and you guys just lost a member of this forum......

Good job guys maybe u can set a record for members leaving.
You do know this is ONLY a message board. You can simply not come here to read it if it upsets you this much. There are only a few of us here that have been responding to your posts, so I don't think it constitutes the entire board. You do have choices, that's part of the specialty of the Internet. You can come here, or go to other places. When you make a post that upsets people, you're going to get mud shoved back in your face. You have to accept that much. I just love how you try to insult the ENTIRE board again by comparing us to the Mini Forum users. I'm pretty sure you'll find some intelligent people over there that you will offend sooner than later.

Grow up, it's only a message board.

I think the number of dings and key marks on his 8 is directly (nay--exponentially) proportional to his good attitude.

as for how the community is acting, you're bringing it on yourself.

trust me, if you went on a mini board and said "oh i can't stand this MINI anymore. birds poop on my car and it gets dirty!!! besides, the hummer h2 is smaller than the mini, handles better, and is safer. i think i'm going to get a h2... the mini is really boring me now" you'd probably get the same kind of responses; namely people calling you out for being an idiot. and trust me, no one is going to be crying over your leaving if your posts come off as they did here.

seriously your post should've looked like this:

"hey, i think i'm going to trade my car in for a mini. i'm getting kind of tired with the car, the gas guzzling is killing me and i've been having a mess of random problems with my rx-8. the mini is small, handles great (i like handling more than power) and gets great gas mileage so i'm probably going to get that."

the advantages of spelling it out like that
1) more positive responses from the community
2) you don't look like an idiot.
3) you don't look like a spoiled brat. (btw saying you want a NEW car because of dents and key marks really really really makes you sound spoiled beyond belief)
4) it still pretty much states everything you were thinking.

"What the car has put me through"... I laugh when I reread that. It's funny how he sees it as if the car did something purposedly to him... and it's ONLY the Rx-8 that can do it for him. Funny read indeed.

Gah, what happened with Eclipse's typing ability? The first post was alright, but I could hardly read the last couple of posts there. Even when I'm pissed, I give my posts a quick proofread.

Anyway, let him do what he wants, but I've got to say those are some of the absolute worst reasons for "needing" a new car that I've ever heard. I'll be honest, I've been lucky enough to have 4 rather nice cars and I'm still a young driver (same age as Eclipse, in fact). However, I've simply appreciated the fact that I have a car and even more so that I have a nice car. I've never felt I "needed" or "deserved" a different car for any reason. We just don't tend to keep cars around very long. I get the same gas mileage, I've had my cars keyed/dinged and my car's just as safe. Provided, I haven't had any problems with the tranny, but the fact that the clutch got eaten up within 30k sounds a bit like user error to me. Clutches just don't do that, and I have some friends who are really bad at driving stick. But I'm no mechanic.
