Back from the Dyno

Well I decied to not add an MBC and prettymuch keep my only real power mod my exhaust, and now the tune. I still have a warranty with the mods I have an thought I'd keep it that way for another year. The car drives smoother, pulls harder, and feels even better as a daily driver. Not big numbers but I'm pretty happy since it's a conservative tune with near stock boost. Best of all I got almost 24mpg with about 7 dyno runs and the trip there an back with some city driving thrown in.

Not to shabby. Are you happy with the power or do you still want more?

Cool. If only the looks of that car didn't hurt my eyes, I would be driving one.

Well, a couple minor mods will go in come spring that will boost it another 10-20whp but their main purpose it to improve spool up. I'll be happy after that til next spring at which time I will probably do Cams, MBC, and a few other small power mods and aim for around 350whp. I'll also do some adjustable coilovers at some time in the next year, may even order them in a week or two for spring. I wouldn't say I'm thirsting for more power right now though, the car drives wonderfully and most of the hard edges have been removed since I ditched the HKS BoV the car came with and replaced it with a diverter valve.

I'll do some trackdays, hoping to go to Road America with BlueRen this spring. Sadly the stock Advans are pretty worn and I'm not sure if I want to do a trackday with my all seasons. We'll see how funding looks, it might come down to getting dedicated track tires or doing the others mods I want to do in the spring. Then there's the bigscreen TV and carpeting I am getting for my entertainment room in a couple weeks... So little money, so many things to spend it on.

I think a kill machine is officially 300 hp to the crank. I'll have to order my new plates now, KIL MCHN.

I hear the weakest part of the car is the clutch. Any notion of swapping that out ? The block is basically bullet prrof, and bottom end parts aren't needed until you get way more stuff. 300 whp is fine for this car. Once you start going crazy then you can upgrade the turbo. A bit small depending on your application

Good kill numbers. Amazing what a squirrel cage can do with a tune and turbo.

The clutch is already upgraded to an ACT.
