I have not, I use the Cobb Tuning Accessport, it's a good unit but I think the Cobb and the Utec are better

I have an EcuTek flash on my Evo. In fact, since I just added a 3" downpipe and 3" high flow cat, I'm bringing it back to Gruppe-S on Friday for another dyno tune and reflash. I've been really happy with it and the tuner I go to loves it also.

I guess instead of better I should have said more user friendly... If you live next to a tuner the Ecutek is great, and Gruppe-S is great to deal with.

And you're right about the Accessport. Mike @ Gruppe-S was telling me he prefers it above all else when tuning WRX's and STi's.

BTW...A couple Evo guys I know have been spending their money on something called ECU+ lately. Apparently it hooks right up to your OBD3 and you and friend riding shotgun can tune the car with their software on a laptop while you're driving around. I know that's not really a new concept or anything, but I'm assuming by the popularity of this new ECU+ that it's more affordable than the earlier technology.

My favorite is the Utec that you can tune with a gameboy, pretty cool stuff

Gotcha. My mistake. There are no differences for the IX mr from the VIII mr. All changes such as the mivec and horsepower increase are across the board. The evo's seats are even better this time around, with alacantra.

Im curious how the FD compares to the Evo and STI since it's essentially a no-compromise performance car. I've heard many good things about the Spirit R and Amemiya-san's FD.
