Finally managed to tally my Chassis number with the list, glad to know it's only a heating problem... feel much better now...

Hopefully all those with joints problems can have them rectified quickly...

Meanwhile, safe driving! :p

I have some newer story from Tigger posted on the other thread

http://199.79.180.162/prepos/files/A...5V325-9406.PDF

It is a good story how they discover the lower arm problems.

Urs from HY right? Had a talk with the manager. Dun worry, they are doing up the letters now and should send out this couple of weeks. They will ask you to go for inspection at the workshop and if there's a problem will rectify it.

Thanxs bro... I'm not so worried now dat it's just a heating insulation problem... well, at least it wouldn't be that hot after the rectification... :P

Hey morgan...I also had the "treatment" done at MM today, but after pestering the reps (I had to pester big time, one after the other) they finally said that no thermal damage was done to my 8, but that precautionary measures were taken.... so how? In the end, I don't know completely what was done to my 8 this afternoon. However, I can tell you that a good straight through cat back aftermarket exhaust will considerably lower the heat in the center consol, works for me mate.

Heck if I know...guess I'll have to do the bends under my 8 to find out, or hoist it up at a garage, but it's not a problem really.

I wonder if they did install the heat shield or did they just did an inspection that nothing is damaged due to the high heat (see see look look only)

I try to call the guy incharge of my recall but he is always not around to pick up the call , guess I would have to make a trip down again to ask him personally

Why at the muffler area. I though the main ideal was to prevent e heat from entering the car?

Guest I would have to spend money again to have the whole Pipes shield away from the car. cos the car aircon just can't make it. it always not cold enough to cool me during the day time.

If you bought a sandwich that is suppose to be kept warm... yes... very good.

Keeps your hot tea/coffee warm all the way. That's good too.

think the main idea was to prevent heat from getting to fuel tank which may result in an unintended combustion. that probly explains why they work in the area of muffler only.
