Just an observation people.....

I had a quick look at the other regional forums and this one is the only one with plenty of negative commentary.

Maybe, just maybe, we are being a bit to harsh on ourselves and on the RX8????????:D :D :D :D

Nope, we're being justifiably harsh on Mazda and in particular Mazda UK, the other countries (except Australia) aren't getting shafted like we are! Only the occasional interloper has a tilt at the car.

Are you naturally paranoid by any chance?! I didn't mean you and I was trying to be slightly comical. Why WOULD I describe someone with 119 posts that way, it would be illogical?

The problem with a forum like this when there is delays, is that it creates a black hole. We are all winding each other up. Think of the positives - you dont want to have an early car - let them iron out any nigles and get their quality up to speed on the yanks and the japs!!

I think that part of the negativity is due to the fact that we are anticipating this car as much as any other nation but feel like we're getting it last. If we had known we would be last at the start then we wouldn't be so disappointed. It's frustration we are feeling rather than negativity towards the car IMO.

I'm not a negative person and certainly not about the car I've wanted for so long but................

I'm impatient and this creates negativity towards the person who's causing my frustration. It just happens to be Mazda and their priorities.

9 months plus is just too long in my opinion.

Cheers

You know things are getting bad when oilman has gone negative. And after all of those very positive posts you gave us over the months.

Try this...
Just imagine that that 1st test drive goes swimmingly well, and you take YOUR car on the road at last. Heads are turning, Impreza owners (and TT owners) are jealous, and you look
%!&^ing cool.

I can wait

Problem is every one on this forum wants their cars NOW. When placing deposits at the start of the year, most of us must have been like kids in a sweet shop. With piece meal offers of communication from Mazda UK and delays, some us, quite rightly are getting negative, since the longer we are kept waiting, some of the initial enthusiasm has waned. As a result, there have been cancellations and threats of cancellations (me).

I think we are starved of news, that is why we are all getting edgy. Over the last 6 months every now and then we have had information; either reviews out of the US and UK, then the car ordering process, then the car itself making the rounds and being viewed, then the book (which I think is great) but now nothing except the delay letter without any real 'excuse me' or compensation offer. I think we all love the car, we just feel we are all being pi$$ed about by Mazda and that is testing our patience and goodwill.

I also think that reading between the lines most of us are rather pessimistic about this whole Mazda thing. Which by the nature of pessmisim you tend to look for the negative things rather than the positive.

What little correspondance we have from Mazda is somewhat negative as its non-commital. No confirmed dates etc thus we read the worse case scenario into it.

I am currently expecting to be celebrating St Andrews day with the arrival of my new car as that to me is a more likely delivery date.

(for those that dont know St Andrews Day is the 30th November)

I think there has been a great deal of positive news, but it is in our nature to focus on the negative more than the positive.

I for one am becoming more and more positive with every passing moment as my delivery date of mid July approaches..............

Oh no sorry that meant to say my delivery date of end of October approaches. Perhaps I should dilute my positivity as it has to stretch out over a longer period now.

Also....................as we wait we look at the alternatives and that then causes conflict.

5th Gear had a positive report on the 156 GTA yesterday; sounds, looks and goes fab, pity about the dealers (yes, worse than Mazda) and depreciation (also yes, worse than that estimated for the 8).
