I agree RenesisMSA about the time we have taken to organize a meeting.
It should not be by defenition a large meeting, more an informal one.

I am very sorry to hear you cannot join on the 5th.

But for the other ones I have to know if you can join on the 5th and if Eindhoven is ok for you. First I have to know how many of you will join. (I know Ceacil and Patrick will come - but please confirm this anyway).

I just called the dealer in Eindhoven and told him about our plan. He liked the idea of a meeting next saterday and told me we are welcome. He told me that he has sold until now 4 8ths.
I promissed him to let him know how many cars will join. So please let me know if you will come on saterday the 5th.

I will give details on time and location later.
Mazda Netherlands will also be informed.
Hope to hear from you all.

Regards,

Eric

Hi Patrick,
I'm looking forward to meet you next saturday.
Hilbert, will you be there too?
Renesis, what a pitty you can't join, since this was your proposal! But lets pick a date in august indeed, maybe Baphi, Tertou and Girly can come too.
But don't wait to long, as they say in Holland: van uitstel komt afstel.

Still no news on IKN, The Chemiste and Antoon, probably sold their 8's.
(I'm just waiting for their reactions, I'm in a naughty mood! :D).

Visited my dealer Rob today, to hear if there's any news on a day as planned in Belgium. He gave me the name of the person who I should contact from Mazda Holland.
Eric, you will probably know this guy, lets talk about this tomorrow.

Regards
Caecil

Okay, that's four cars until now.
Two red, a black one and a Tit.

Friday I will contact the Dealer in Eindhoven and give him the details.
I think a nice meeting time for everybody would be 12.00 a.m.
If we could agree on that I could pass that also.

The weather will be nice on saterday, so, take your cameras with you and leave your naughty moods at home ........

Sleep tight.

I confirm this on Friday.

OK Eric,

12.00 h is OK for me.
We will be in Eindhoven earlier, so Stephanie can visit the city (shops) and have a lunch before meeting at noon, or are there other proposals for the lunch ?

regards,
Patrick

The Renesis is winner in the category Best Engine 2.5 to 3 liter in 2004, ( www.mazda.nl ).
In 2003 it was The Best New Engine, Best Engine 2.5 to 3 liter, as well as Engine of the year 2003.

The second generation Toyota Prius Hybrid engine won The Best New Engine, Best Fuel Economy and the overall title Enige of the year 2004.

Winning this title or not, we made a wise decision! The only thing one could want from a Prius is its milage.

Yes, strange I know. Somewhere on this forum someone explained why the Renesis is in this category. I'll try to find it again.

Found it, RobDickinson posted this on the 26th of june 2003:
The 1.3l Renesis breathes like a 2.6, it cant obviously be compared to a 1.3 4 cylinder engine.

It has 3 firing chambers on each rotor, and each fire every revolution.

So its more like a 2.6l V6 than anything else.

Rotarygod also explained why Renesis can and can't be compared to 1.3, 2.6 or even 3.9 L engines.

Hi guys!

I'm back in town! Had a busy weekend, so no time to visit the forum. Saturday I waxed my 8, on Sunday we had to go to a party, Monday we went to Knokke and Sluis and yesterday I had to do some work (too much playtime). The 8 has now 440 km and it drove 340 km with 50l gasoline. Not too bad.

Patrick, it wasn't me you have seen in Bredene. Guess there are a lot of 8 owners who don't surf the web. Even my dealer didn't know about the forum. Perhaps we should think about starting up an RX8-club for Belgium and the Netherlands and publish a newsletter. I received something like that from the MX5-club last year. I found it very interesting (didn't know about the club before). My dealer also told me that a lot of doctors and lawyers bought an 8. He has already sold lots of 8's, for instance, the week before I got my 8, he delivered 4 8's to others. So there's a lot of potential to explore!

word document

girlyRX8,

I can't believe your dealer doesn't know as several months ago I sent a mail to all belgian dealers notifying the existance of this "BeNeLux-forum". Unless they do not read their mail, they should know. I asked them all to hand over a word-document to new RX8 owners (I mailed them a Dutch and a French version of the document" stating the existance of this forum ... so.

hereby this document in Dutch.

regards,
Patrick

Bavikhove, 22 februari 2004.

Mevrouw, Meneer,

Hi Patrick!

I'm dead serious, though! The week before I got my car, when we had those problems with the delivery, my husband went to the dealer. After talking for a while he mentioned the forum and they visited it with a portable pc. I suppose they didn't read that mail or they have already forgotten about it. Anyway, I already mailed the MX5 club to ask them for any tips on informing people and organising meetings. They did get my address last year as MX5-owner, shortly after I visited a local mazda repair shop, so I suppose they know how to get that info. I hope they are willing to give some help. When I get a response I'll let you know. I know, from their newsletter, that the person responsable for the MX5-club is an owner of a MX5 accessorie shop. They have a club magazine called 'roofless', it is published every 3 months. They organise meetings, inform members about the newest stuff available for their car, publish articles on road tests and when we went to the Brussels autosalon, they gave a lecture on the mazda stand (which I didn't see).

Is there someone who knows more about this club? A dealer or a member, perhaps?
