LOL darn i want to take my rx8 for autox or tracking but i have no time or money. I have never done it and would like to. How much does it cost anyways? and what do i need if i go?

Autocross costs you $35 for a regular event (up to $100 for national events etc). You don't need anything to get started. If your car is safe to drive on the street it's safe to drive at autocross. You will need to remove anything in the cabin that's not tied down: carpets, mirror hangers, etc. You will also need a helmet but $35 includes a loaner helmet if you don't have your own.

Trackdays (non competitive) will cost you $200 per event. You will need a helmet, more than 50% brake pads, flush your brake fluid, and more than 40% tire treads left.

Then there is Rallycross that will cost you $50 per event but I don't recommend doing it in our cars.

I help organize some of these events so let me know if you need any more info.

 

@torotor ya totally agree with you on that one my dealership tech guy was saying if the exhaust threw any check engine light that they obviously would have to see the cause in effect of how if any reason the after market exhaust threw the check engine light there would have to be some corraltion between the two. In that saying looks like I'm going to make a purchase of the racing beat exhaust haha.

but ya for me as well I would prefer the meet on a sunday or even monday...but sunday would be perfect for me just need a time and place and well some commitment that people will show up haha

As long as you can cross the border (i.e. you have a passport) then you can have stuff shipped to a letter carrier in the US. There's a couple in Blaine/Bellingham and one in Point Roberts. I use the Point Roberts all the time. They rarely make you pay duty as well (never had to). Free shipping, no duty, and it only costs $3 for them to hold onto your package. P.S. the Point Roberts border is much more lax and less travelled than Peach Arch. Much easier to just toss the box away and stow small parts in the trunk or whatever too.
