Where is the new Congee queen opening?

 

I was going to wait until May 1st to put the car back on the road, but if the roads get cleaned up by April 1st, I'll def be at the next meet.

 

I actually forget where it is lol... I know I saw it next to some Greek restaurant I went to. Maybe it's in markham and not scarborough =\

As always; there's a lot of talk and very little organizing...

The only people that I've seen take the effort to organize these events on this forum had been;

In contrast; the Evo & Subaru club meets weekly in more organize fashion and ppl actually show up to chill and share ideas.

Just my 2 cents.

 

Cool, did you just get the car recently?

 

I find its difficult to organize any big meets as people's schedules tend to conflict... (I usually organize OFF the forum actually :S ).

Anyone feel like having a meet this Friday? I caved into the warm weather and will have insurance on my 8 starting tomorrow morning. I'm thinking food somewhere in Markham? Richmond Court again :P ?

When and where i'm in for a friday get together

 

It's usually at Hwy 7 and Valleymede (there's a shell there that we usually do a wash at, then head over to Time Square (Leslie and Hwy 7) for some food afterwards.

The locations are both in Markham and we usually meet at 10pm

 

Yes, it's two minutes from the QEW and Winston Churchill.

He always has a good turnout there of MX5's and it would be cool to see some more RX8's.

I'm picking up my new plates for the 8 today as my insurance is now in effect

I'm down for food and meet n greet Friday evening. Does anyone need a wash? If so we could meet at the shell at hwy 7 and valleymede at 10pm - then head over for some cheap grub at Richmond Court at Times Square (Alternatively - if no one wants a wash we can just meet at Richmond Court)

Question... do you guys all get off work at 9pm on a Friday or something? How come it's never a meet at "dinner time"?

 

Hm youre right. 10 does seem a bit late (I was so dead tired last week when I went out to meet you guys at like 11pm lol).

Footman what time would you prefer? G_man are you driving in from Oshawa? Would earlier be easier for you all? Suggesting we change the meet time to 7pm perhaps?

 

Well, I was thinking something more appropriate like friday dinner as opposed to some ginormous meal at Richmond Court at 11pm...

I'm good with anytime afterwork, like around 6:30pm, I know it takes some for some others to get there....

Could do the wash meet first and then dinner or vice versa...

 

Does the Valleymede Shell car wash has soap yet? Its so warm now. Last time we met up for the car wash 2 weeks ago was still pure hot water. Hope there is soap now. I will try my best to make it this Friday again.

 

No mang, you guys all gotta bring the wash bucket with your own soap and do hand washes there. That's what I do... it's way better than the spray wash alone. you need that HAND ACTION!

 

I can't do a 10pm, but I could do anytime before that. 7pm dinner meet would be cool I think. And we can still meet at Valleymede for a wash if needs be. I guess I'll go for that, actually!

So, are we thinking not Richmond Court? How was that sushi place you guys did last time? (Also right by Valleymede, wasn't it?)

I think the traffic is pretty bad around that time for valleymade too...and there are tons of road construction around

There is a place just south of the mall at Victoria park and Ellesmere. I go there more frequently now (4 bays in total, with 2 bays with 2 spot so you can have 2 rx8 in one bay!)

Maybe closer to west end folks..oh well :P

 

That's a good point, I don't much care for driving that stretch either, these days. And they're gonna be at it for a while, they've practically dug a bridge right under hwy7 at Leslie there ...

I'm not opposed to trying a new location, but what about the food angle? We need something solid to attract members! :P And a Tim's nearby wouldn't hurt either, if we're considering something long-term.

 

whats a good place with good eats even a beer, say mid scarborough if you guys want a change and the roads are all f*#ked up in the area where you generally meet
