I'd flash....if I ever saw anyone! Most of my driving is on freeways, so it's hard to spot another 8 coming the other way.

I use to flash and wave..

Now with more on the road more rude people are buying the cars and giving you filthy looks or sticking their fingers up thinging you high beemed them for something else.

So know i wait for a look or a smile or a sign from them they are not hostile... Then i will reply to compliment.

edit* Just adding to above.. A few people around my areas that are buying the cars now get pissed off that someone else has the same car. I know sounds stupid but its very sad they look at you like they want to kill you... I rekon its Ageo causing all the trouble or 8a8by 8

Regards
Phillip

the first time i took my car out at night, a car full of young guys yelled out `f'n *******' and swerved towards my lane. Scared the **** out of me as the car was immaculate at the time. I still drive over cautiously when traffic is around so i can avoid other people. When i see another rx8 i usually wave but have noticed many drive past without acknowledgement and want to get out of the same area......something to do with wanting to be the only rx8 around??? As more cars are popping up maybe honking and waving is too much.....only a fraction of rx8 owners are on this forum...?

Personally, I get jealous as still don't have one yet (but I'm working on it).

As I'm not driving one I simply treat it (the car) with the respect it deserves.

However, like others forum members, I am finding the "arsehole" factor is coming into play as more appear on the roads. There is a young couple whose son goes to the same Kindy as my son. They have a silver RX-8. I complemented them on their car and remarked that I hoped to have my own around Xmas. All I got was a curt dismissive nod, and a distainful look (could have been the T-shirt and board shorts as I was on a day off).

In contrast, Murray owns a Red RX-8 auto, and his son goes to my daughter's school. We stand there and chat about the relative merits of the car - now there's a good bloke with a good car.

Perhaps we need a RX-8 Club sticker on the windscreen to aid greeting processes?

Bugger... and there I was hoping to see them one day

I've given the odd wave, flashed the lights as well as a thumbs up. If it's Hymee, I look the other way and completely ignore him, hence I've never seen his ****.

I'm sticking to a subtle wave or maybe a thumbs up if I see what looks like an enthusiast e.g. has a Hymee enhanced sticker.

I got one from PoLak in the US... don't tell anyone in US but I ordered 2 he mailed me 4 sets with extra 2 rotors, and he did not charge me for the mailing - EVER!

It looks good and put it in the driver's side corner of the rear window... as shown in the crap picture below... also on my helmet

I don't flash or wave, people will think you're road raging. My windows are tinted, so they can't see in anyway.

The few times I've tried to make contact with someone in an RX-8 it turns out to be some house wife who doesn't know what the hell I'm up to, and thinks of the car as just a car.

These days you do anything off the wall and the cops are called on you :P

Taka
I wave and smile to all good looking Female blondes, irrespective of whether they are driving, riding or walking , it improves the odds of making out by 100%. :D

If they happen to be in a RX8 thats a bonus .

cheers
michael
