Having trouble passing evap monitor for emissions test

I have been working on getting the rx8 ready for my smog check, being it is a obd2 vehicle the test now only consist of the monitors to be ready/passed. All of my monitors are ready except evap, I currently have no pending or hard fault codes, all factory evap equipment is hooked up. I'm assuming that no codes are present the system has not detected any leaks or faulty equipment. I have driven the car quite a bit with no luck. Does anyone know what the system is looking for to allow the monitor to pass? The shop manual does not provide a learning procedure. I have verified the purge solenoid clicks on and off if I add voltage to it.

I know for some manufacturers they can manually get the monitor to learn, can this be done with the 8?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

someone posted it has to be between 1/4 and 3/4 of a tank to learn it. so try not to fill it up. it takes a while.

I forgot to mention that I have made sure gas level is between 1/4 and 3/4 for the evap to perform the test.

getting all the monitors to set is a PITA! there is a page in the shop manual that tells you how to do 2/3 of them, but i think the evap tests itself every 3rd key cycle?

I believe this the CARB requirement:

The failure criteria include the following:

-Gasoline-powered vehicles model-years 2000 and newer with any incomplete monitors, excluding the evaporative system monitor

Just found this info out yesterday and immediately went to perform a smog test with fantastic results. Car passed and now I can get back to making some progress.
