It was shame we couldn't catch up Dave...I lost count on the amount of times I got busted by the bank on 21, shafted with the last card of Texas Hold 'em and then giving a $150 donation through their slot machines.
Despite the odds, I made sure I had a wild enough time of it anyhow. Saturday night we went to Draculas and had a ball, then realised I was getting pasted with a $48 fee for a bucket of Coronas (6).
What the hell...the joys of entertainment. No wonder some of the biggest party animals on earth are rich and famous - they need to pay for it somehow.
All in all I had a great weekend and by the time the Nats come around, should be ready for another bender.....

Forgot to close my boot the other day. Net result.... after a little over 24 hours, flat battery. Got it going again doing a hill start... in reverse down the driveway
Good excuse really to drive around and let the battery charge up again (I don't have a car battery recharger.)
My RX8 is now 4 years old. Done 16,000 km. Yes, that's right. Sixteen thousand. Have had no problems with it. But then again, I haven't really driven it much. Still, I'm a happy customer.
My last car (Astina SP) I had for 12 years, and managed to do 72,000km but It was second hand and I got it when it was a year old and 24,000km on the clock. Nothing ever happened to that car as well.
One thing to note, for some reason, both of the mazda's that I've owned could only get approx 300km per tank. I hear that the RX8 will do better than that on a full tank, but have yet to experience it. Really doesn't matter to me though, because I fill her up once every 1.5months.
It's probably time to get a new battery

Good to see you back in here Julia and glad you're enjoying the minimobile.
I've got some mods lined up to fit - have my MS front tower brace, air filter and new plugs ready to go. Just wating on a water pump from Andrew and then I'm off to my friendly mechanics to have it all installed.
Also thinking about having my front end resprayed - it's looking pretty tired from stone chips and scratches, etc...

Great to hear from you Julia. I tried out the Mini recently and for a big bloke like me it wasn't as bad as I first thought - except the pedal dimensions were a bit too close for my liking.
If I had to choose between it and the Bug, the Mini would win hands down. The Mini has a far higher crash and safety rating than any 4WD, and will in fact protect you with a superior design and the six airbags.
I still wouldn't take that for granted, you can the turn it on a 20c piece so put your foot down and avoid them!

Watched the replay of that Wales v Wallabies game this arvo. What a cracking game! Talk about a nailbiter. Welsh thoroughly deserved the win though - really great attacking rugby. Best of the tour IMHO.

Best we dont mention that Dave. It is painful..Are you Welsh or something?
Heard you are heading to Winton soon. Sounds good. Do you want to take my 4 semi-slick tyres with you to try? They are in their twilight but you are welcome to look at them and see what you think.May have a few cycles in them yet?

Thanks for the offer of the semi-slicks but I think I'll pass. I'm happy to stick with my road tyres and avoid the hassle of picking them up, fitting them in the car, changing them down there, dropping them back to you, etc....
