Looks are subjective, so don't sweat it if we find it loathsome. I find it heavy handed and faux-macho, not to mention suffering a distinct whiff of Bangle - the great satan of car design...

distinct whiff of Bangle
fair call, and it certainly has a degree of "in your face" factor to it,
i can hear the guys at zonda slapping their foreheads in frustration,
beaten at their own game by "zee germans"

That maybe true, but I still seem to see more Rx8s than Minis on the road these days, and thanks to our government smokescreen we're all filling their back pockets in taxes anyhow. If the urge gets too much Julia you could always rent one to get it out of your system...!

How else you can compare, dare I ask?

Safety is all about how to get the energy being absorbed so as not to enter into the cabin of the car; not judge merely by the amount of force the small car will receive.

Smart cars may be disadvantaged in terms of their weights, but the force travel during the crash is so "smart" that the cabin with the driver inside receives much less force owing to the design. Hence a 5 star rating.

Mind you in any car, big or small, if you slow from 100kmh-0; the deceleration force will tear the aorta or pulmonary vessels apart.

Bottom line, crash test is more complicated then year 9 physics. I got A+ in my Year 12 Physics and I am absolute struggling to understand the "physics" of crashes.
I have seen a few bad crashes.
There are a lot of ways to get hurt.
Cars that get 5 star ratings usually remain enough shape to get the doors open and prevent the occupant's legs getting crushed.
Getting trapped in a car seriously increases your chance of a bad outcome.
Combine this with airbags to reduce the maximum G-forces to survivable levels and I will take the 5 star car anyday.
5th gear ran an early 90's Volvo wagon into a small 5 star Renault and despite being only 2/3 the mass the Renault passengers would have only received minor injuries. THe driver would have had to be cut out of the Volvo and received major , possibly fatal, injuries

On the 2nd car front I am still very debated.

My wife hinted me that I should even consider an automatic car even though the thing that I want may be over the budget...................
*** I thought I never see a VW Golf..... maybe worth driving one of those. Thought the R32 is a bit of fun.

BTW I am so happy today

Ah yeah... they played much better this year and they deserve it.

They are much stronger team than 88/89 when they won all 3 titles.

It is a much better team with EPL and possible UEFA Champion League titles

Got this e-mail thought id share

MESSAGE TO THE AUSTRALIAN PUBLIC
The federal government is sending each and every one of us a $600 rebate.

If we spend that money at K-Mart, the money will go to China .

If we spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs, if we purchase a computer it will go to Taiwan,

If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala,

If we purchase a good car it will go to Japan,

If we purchase useless crap it will go to Korea and none of it will help the Australian economy.

If we put it into Telstra, it will go towards wages in India .

The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it on prostitutes gambling and beer, since these are the only products still produced in Australia .

Thank you for your help.

Kevin Rudd & Wayne Swan .

(Australian Prime Minister & Australian Treasurer)

$600 buck will get you a girl for a night, a carton of beer, $50 play money and a $500,000 divorce. Better to spend it all on beer....

URBAN DICTIONARY:

MUNGO

Anyone involved with Rugby League be it fans, players, coaches, administrators, reporters etc. These Mungoes also tend to be incorrigible reprobates and are best avoided. e.g. 'Joey Johns is just another neanderthal Mungo'

I rest my case.....

Let me make this perfectly clear. Melbournites (Bogans) are typified by mullet heads driving around in a Holden Commodore, blaring AC/DC music with a VB stubby in suburbia. Theres not one kangaroo in sight and its freezing bloody cold.

On the other hand, Sydney has Bondi Beach and Brisbane has the Gold and Sunshine Coasts......

They moved here from NSW/QLD as they have been banned from driving, have too many children from seperate relationships and dont want to pay child support and can't get rental properties in NSW/QLD from doing too many runners.

All comes down to what you like. Also what you are used to. Personally I think Syd is a spawling cesspool, Bris is boring as batshit and Melb, well I love the cosmopolitan, cafe lifestyle, but these days you can only do it before 9pm else you're likely to be beaten to death.
