My suggestion is leave the 8 at home and take someone else's car, with more room (for both bodies and belongings), better fuel economy, that is less likley to draw attention to you and get you into trouble.

Plus if someone else is driving then you can drink more hehe

Oh man I really Wish I could do that, I honestly do
My Mum won't lend me her C-Class because she dosen't like driving my '8 (she has a bad back), and my dad won't let me drive the Q7 for insurance reasons. Right now I'm ditching the Tents and possibly the Sleeping bags for some Cheap Motels on the way, thank you wotif.com for cheap $40 rooms

My plans are to drive from Sydney to Coffs Harbour and stay there the night, then Drive to Byron Bay and stay there 2 nights, then drive to Surfers where we'll stay for 7 nights. And I'm only taking the '8 during the day, and the car will stay in the underground car park @ night. Enforcer I'm re-thinking putting back in the Spare, just in case my other mate goes in my friends Pulsar.

Man I'll leave the drinking for the GC, drinking on the way up will only fatigue and tire me, lol. I haven't been bothered by cops before but I'm expecting to be lectured maybe once or twice, not that I'll be speeding or carrying more than 1 passenger after 11pm, lol. Anyway it should be fun, hopefully

 

Depends who do you mixed with.... if you went to mine, you will be bored to death.

I could not get a hired car at the week. Otherwise, it would be fun...

 

My Immediate Group has 20 people, about 16 of them have flown up to Byron today, and myself along with 5 others are driving on Wednesday. And half of my Year 12 classmates are going too so it should be interesting. Man I would've flown if I could Hire a car but I have to wait till I'm off my Green P's.

Certain members are developing a 'let me lecture you' tendency, which they might want to watch - it gets tiresome for the grownups amongst us.

I played skirmish with some Schoolies near Coffs last weekend (I was on a buck's weekend - yes I know, cliched behaviour but damn it was fun). They were a great bunch of kids and seemed determined to avoid the GC.

 

Are they really?

Skirmish would've been heaps of fun! I reckon it's a bit of a sadomasarchistic game though ... how many times did you get hit?

I wasn't thinking of you youngens at all when making that comment. Au contraire, our resident lecturers are old enough to know better.

 

I hadn't played in years and we all had a ball. The guns are so much more accurate and powerful these days.

It does hurt when you get hit and I'm still carrying some fading welts.

Doesn't help when you decide to participate in a forlorn hope (readers of Napoleonic warfare will recognise the term, lol). It worked though - our casualties allowed others to win the flag, yada yada yada, lol.

Mind you, there were some girls amongst the Schoolies group that played with us who seemed to enjoy it once they got over their initial fears. It's a bit like surfing big waves - once you survive the first wipeout, the rest is just fun.

Yeah, it's fun! We should go do one day, there's a new centre opened up near by.

I didn't think it was too bad but the $$ got a bit confusing because we paid in as a group and then paid individually for the 'extra ammo' we each used. I think about $100 each all up depending on your trigger finger. Not bad for half a day's entertainment.

Those who know me won't be surprised that I was one of the more trigger happy participants, lol. Hand over the Amex and damn the torpedoes, hahaha...

 

I won't go into it further. There's already been someone who misinterpreted my comments.
