[QUOTE=xxup]You would rather go to Frazer Island than the RX-8 Nationals???

Both would be fun as it is a break up party for the boys from the soccer team.

I just confirmed the dates and the Fraser Is trip is from 15 to 22 Oct. I may be able to come back earlier depending on transportation as I do not own a 4WD.

Cost Estimates: <$500???

The question of likely costs was raised on the rx8.com.au site, so I am posting my response here, too.

It's a bit early to give any firm cost estimate, and I don't want to be held to the number I am about to suggest, but it seems to me we should have a goal of running the event at a cost to participants including accommodation, some meals and drinks, events and so-on over Friday evening through Sunday lunchtime, for less than $500 per participant. This obviously excludes fuel and car preparation costs.

I'd appreciate feedback on this. Obviously, costs come down as numbers go up -- equally, with more resources we can do more and better stuff

Agree... with the single most costly thing is the track and the day's accessories!!!!

Accomodation wise, Goulburn is actually have reasonable price. The 4 star Willow is only 60 per single or 120 bucks for a family suite.

Who likes to share the double with me ?

VIC attenders

Taka
Gomez
ILIV48
xatnep
auzoom
MrRX8_R
MissRX8

Pending: DracoMJB, and Jormatom

The more the better!

Sure.. Better than doing a double with Hymee - at least I have a chance of some part of the blanket.. :D

I think that $500 is reasonable for a whole weekend.. Some of us can each that much in food!! :D

I think 500 is reasonable, but I think it would be better to leave food out of it. As xxup said, some of us can eat a fair bit, others dont eat what others eat, etc. It ends up being a big hassle.

Surely $500 is enought to include some food? Any caterers amongst us who can pitch in?

I'm assuming if I take my wife and kids it will not be $500 x 4. Maybe $500 + 3 x food.

Should we look at the shearing shed (bunk-house) for accomodation? It is a great communal sort of thing, that I reckon is just right for a national meet type of gathering.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Any thoughts on the track running for the day. Everyone just blasting around sounds a little too risky. Just shooting the breeze here not knowing wakefield but groups of 5-10 on the track at a time to get everyone up to speed. Maybe grouping on times afterwards ?
Timed hot laps ?
Hymee enhanced vs poor old bastards ?
Any thoughts?

If the number of cars does not get over 35. We can go open session like Event Oneill's.

People can be sensible on the track and I think we all are.

We might not liked get it timed if there are too much issue with Mazda, insurance and stuff. I think we need to have CAMS if we record lap times, right??

35 cars on the pit and people limit themselves and have 8-10 cars at a time. People do maz 7-10 laps anyway. ... plenty of chances for a run and I am sure you will run out of petrol, engine oil, brakes and tyres on the track.

Come to July 19 and you will know you don't see another car very much when you only have 30 odd car for the track day.

Firstly theres no guarantee that Hymees Supercharger will be ready for the meet but I also know that the stock engines reliability for the track has been truly proven whilst the supercharger / turbochargers havent .

The extra power is not neccesaraly going to work to your advantage on a racetrack such as Wakefield .

Driver ability will be the key .

ROFLMAO

Guess i forgot that my Hymee grill and exhaust / together with the RP short shifter sold by his agent Hymee :p will give me the added performance on the race track , :D also my car without the Hymee enhanced sticker is slightly lighter than the others :p without the added weight of the hymee enhanced sticker , i will have a definite advantage

Guys spoke to Mazda head office about our RX8 EDUCATIONAL TRAINING DRIVE DAY , they said they would consider some form of involment and get back to me on how they may get involved .

How about initial groups based on experience? One group for track day veterans, another for newbies. That seems logical.

I think we all wish it was just around the corner. I'll refrain from using such language. (Bad rx88er, bad boy)
