Guy's,
I'm in, but, sans car way, too big for carry on.
Pretty sure i can con my brother into driving down in his 330, least it's wheels!

Hymee may have saved the video, the links are now dead. Try emailing Glenn if all else fails. I'm in for the 22nd-23rd.....just need to get some time off from work, should be no dramas.

I'm in for 22-23 October.
I'm also happy to share my car on the track day if people like MikeyR and xxup end up without their cars there. I'm sure fine upstanding genetlemen like them will take the proper care!! :D
I reckon build it and they will come. I suggest this thread has gotten too long kicking around the idea and some people will get tired with going through the first few pages.
Perhaps replace it with a first post setting out the dates and what is proposed?? Or is that a little premature at this stage. Up to you Timbo since you kicked it off.
As for partners getting bored, etc. I'm sure between now and October we can cook up a decent program of stuff to keep people entertained. I think the key is to lock it in and get people planning now because if it comes together early that in itself will attract more people.

And Revolver, thanks old chap, would be a great honour to tool around at least one lap!
My little brothers up for it, so at least he and I can remove some tread from his 330Ci.
Have found a coach here so am off to "Puke" (Touring car fans will know this) to get some tips.

(Oh and looking forward to the Balmy weather that Goulburn offers in October , do we bring chains?)

Xxup,
Last time I left at about 5:00am or something, met Lock at Mudgereeba, had breakfast at Grafton I think - golden arches anyway. I remember refulling at Coffs Harbour. Stopped somwhere deep inside Cockroach county for a quick snack, then stopped near Newcastle to meet Jax8, had a late and took more fuel. When via Sydney, harbour tunnel etc, we were in Goulburn by about 7:30pm and had Chinese for dinner.
All the same, if we are doing a family trip this time, perhaps we could stop somewhere. Maybe we stop in Newcastle, meet up with Wildcard and TrippleG, and continue to Goulburn the next day (Friday I guess).
Cheers,
Hymee.

Sounds good..
The Finance Director says she will only go with us if other families are definately going to the track.. She refuses to be the only "track chick" there..
I did remind her of a very dull fishing trip that Miss 1 (at the time) and I attended beachside, while she and the fishing buddies sat all weekend comparing bait and lures.. (17 of them went that weekend and not one caught a fish!)
Anyway - if I am to drive "familyless" then I need to hire a car for Miss 5 and the Finance Director while I am away.. Mazda 2 ought to do it! :D :D

Oops Andrew,... :D
So far Victoria has
1. Taka
2. Gomez
3. xatnep
4. auzoom
Come on ILIV48, MissRX8, RIX XXX, atridge~!
I am coming up on my own and Mrs Taka is happy to stay at Canberra if Mr and Mrs. Taka Senior are going too... taking Virgin Blue up (any discount ticket - Mez???) :D.
************************************************** *******************
Jokes aside:
We talk business...
Assuming that we can book the track on Saturday, we have to work out the timing of travelling up the Hume.
Please state your prospect of getting Friday off during the day.
************************************************** *******************
My wife refused to go to track :o
The best hope you have is to have Mrs. ILIV48. I know if she comes she will be at the track.

Had an idea.
As we know, many 8 owners probably do not frequent forums like this or the other rotary sites so they will never hear about the proposed Inaugural RX8 National Meet.
But, they all get their cars serviced and most do it though the dealer while under warranty. Do you think it's worth asking dealers to leave a flyer in the car after each service advertising the Meet to give it more exposure or is this too OTT???
Problems with this idea are as follows:
1. Mazda may be reluctant to appear to give official support to such an event and/or dealers may not wish to go to the bother of doing it.
2. The cost and hassle of printing and distributing flyers to dealers.
So long as Mazda Australia doesn't have complete control freaks for PR people, I reckon we could get around the first problem. As for the second, most of us have access to a printer I'd imagine. Once we agreed on the format and content of the flyer we could separately print out 50 or so and deliver them to our dealers.
Well, what do you reckon?

Of course, some of you may wish to limit the Meet to this online community. If so, I respect that. I just thought if we really want to boost numbers we need to get the word out asap.
