I'll change the subject for ya Revolver :p .
Who are the 8 winners in this weekend's round of the AFL? I'm in with a chance for the tipping comp at work and this weeks tips are going to be crucial. The Bombers/ Cats game is troubling me, as is the Magpies/ Dockers clash.
Help!!

Huh
Since Timbo tells me that the only way he can stop the fighting amongst those clamouring for the exalted position of NSW Co-ordinator, I'll graciously step back into the (still vacant) role.
Henceforth, you may all refer to me as "The Anointed Cockroach" (not too far from my professional status actually... )
Now since I figure New South Welsh men (and women) consider themselves far too busy and important to PM me with an indication of their commitment (like I asked weeks ago!!) and may not wish to mix (yet) with the poorer states in this thread, I'm gonna stroke their egos by starting a dedicated NSW Nats thread, purely for co-ordinating purposes (i.e. getting the bastards to go). For everything else, continue to look here.
If that fails, I am going to PM every single NSW member continuously until they finally cave in and decide to go if only to take turns bashing my head in so I'll shut up.

I have done that on my side. Timbo. What is the commitment (pay up) date?

We have 8 in VIC mate... I think if it is not successful, the blame should go to the Revolver )(on behalf of NSW) :p, they should get at least 20 RX-8s to travel 2 hours down to Goulburn.

We have seven from Queensland and we have the furthest to travel (except for a car carrier full of RX-8s coming from WA - driven by an elderly ex-Volvo driver with some - as yet - undiagnosed medical problem :D :D )
What is the magic number Tim? At what point do we decide that it is too expensive and abandon the trip?? If Wakefield is off the family want to go somewhere in September...

Understand. I reckon 30+ is fine, below that might be a bit marginal. My real concern has been not being able to get a real sense of the Sydney guys

Yes - that sounds good to me... Gives me enough time to deal with the September holidays and keep the peace in the family... :D
The next thing is a way to facilitate online payments.. The money order/cheque thing is really annoying for me.. I would prefer to use PayPal or a very secure site... This may take time to arrange - do any of us have a facility that can help make this happen? Likewise we need a away to reverse the transactions in the event that there are not enough takers by the close date.. As there are some costs involved in on-line transactions there may be a non-refundable "risk" element of a couple of $$...

Talk about a poisoned chalice!
Will do my best to get some firm numbers for you Timbo. Will advise 26 August cutoff date for financial commitment on the NSW Nats thread.

An online arrangement would be great but perhaps opening a dedicated account might work. We could either direct deposit or send cheques or money orders. I don't know - any other suggestions? Timbo, what do you think is easiest?

The problem with Paypal is they'll take a cut of the transaction, so it's not a good way to send money around if you're not prepared to give up a few percent of what's being transferred. If it is decided to go down that path I can help set things up... have recent experience doing it for hymee.com.
What's wrong with doing external transfers using online banking?

I might look at setting up a separate account here, with another person as signatory or something. Seems the best way to establish trust

Mostly, but I think the venues for Friday and Saturday night might entail a fixed cost, too...and then there's 'extras' -- plates etc, which we need to identify and agree
