so. i went to rx8store and I was looking for a decent cat/exhaust setup. Problem is, I was considering all the systems. It is very hard to choose between racing beat, b&b, greddy, hks, rx8stores etc. Help me out! Which one would u prefer! Lets just start a poll!.. GO! :)

I have the Greddy cat and couldn't be more pleased. I chose this one because I wanted a much lower pitch than stock, but I wanted as little possible added volume as I could get. This thing sounds like a dream - nice and soothing low sound but doesn't draw any unwanted attention when I run up through the band. Good luck with your choice :D

Borla, baby. Gains as good as any other exhaust, a reasonable price, an excellent sound, and a million mile warranty. What more could you ask for?

And by the way, this question comes up about once a week or so here. A quick search on "exhaust" in this forum netted 10 pages of threads talking about exhausts, and quite a few where people were asking the same "which exhaust?" question as you:

One thing I like about my Borla, in addition to that which Omicron mentioned, is that you can't see the muffler from the back of the car. The stock muffler is visible but the Borla is not and that makes for a much cleaner look. The Racing Beat exhaust is well-known for being a nice unit that is not a huge leap in terms of changing the overall tone but deepening it, somewhat.

there is really minimal change in HP when deciding on an exhaust system. your paying for sound really. is the racing beat louder than the greddy??

I say go with Borla or Greddy. Both sound nice but the Borla seems to have that deeper tone.

The greddy looks more straight back and lighter than the borla, thats why i went with it.

The cat-back exhaust, like most other mods for the 8, is not going to give you a huge power boost as a stand-alone mod. However, it sets you up for larger gains as your modification package gets larger and more complete. You wouldn't put a turbo on without a new exhaust system, would you?
