I have the Borla and love it. Install was a breeze. The sound is great, but only loud when you really get on it.

I have the Borla and its awesome. The HKS certainly looks better from underneath as it is polished, but unless your in a car show that doesnt really ever come into play. The tips look very much the same. I havent heard the HKS in person to judge, but I do love that Borla sound. I think the borla is cheaper as well. I got mine for Just over $500.

$500 difference bro. 1000 for the HKS vs 500 for the borla. i think the borla has a much throatier sound. from the clips i've heard it sounds kinda like american muscle. I'd go for the borla just cuz it saves me $500

sup3rbad,

Can you still get the Borla for $500 anywhere? I keep hearing somewhere in the mid 600's for it.

I agree. I like my RX8Store system but if the RB was available I would have got that.

Does changing out the stock catback yield any noticeable power gain? Or is it really the cat that is the main restriction in the exhaust?

My recommendation is the same. How funny that is...

For me... the RB looks badass and the clip I heard sounds good. I hear they're heavy thought... big negative for me.

Borla looks good, sounds good, and will last forever... million mile warranty (well I hear RB holds up well too)... I just wish it had the RB or Magnaflow tips...

3-12 hp available with changing out your cat-back... just depends on which vendor you ask. The cat is worth a decent amount, as Mazda changed it out on the JDM Mazdaspeed RX-8 too.
